Tollula

As a reference librarian I have access to all sorts of books, old and new. Since I started working in a library, I have been reading non-stop. Included on my shelf are some of my favorite books as well as new ones I have read recently.

Please email me if you want to discuss the books we are reading. I enjoy making new friends.... more »

i can see that. if you do don't read chapter 128. it's a waste of time. Also there is something about the mayans and how they did not invent 0. he totally got that wrong. it bugs me to think about it. a harvard professor should know that.

I just wanted to rant about morale and how no one wants to buy an East Los Angeles Holiday Tee! It should be a rule that Librarians should promote their library. It's only fair! I'll remember this when I am a librarian as well. Especially the librarians! Do they think that because they are I's that it does not matter where they started off?

I read the lost symbol. I think you'll like it. However, there is one whole chapter that you can skip over without missing anything. I think it's 128 or something toward the end. Dan Brown just wanted to get 133 chapters because 33 is prominent in the book. It deals with some kind of speech/speaker. I skimmed it because I felt that I should read it but was upset about the lost time afterward.

I know! I am trying, lol!! I am reading Flash Forward now. Have you watched the show? I hear it is really good which I am so excited about because I am liking the book a lot! I had every intention of reading and FINISHING the book before the show acutally aired but that didn't happen so I am DVRing it so that I can watch when I am done with the book. I am about 120 pages in. I see that you have read a few books lately...making up for our lazy summer I see, lol. So much for 50 this year huh? lol

We need to start a book club on fb! I know you are in one already but you and I should start another (if we have time to actually read the books) Because I have a few friends who would do it but have no time for acutal meetings (like me) and it would be a pretty long commute for you and I to attend meetings at one anothers homes! LMAO

Yeah, I could do with a sequel but I don't think it would need to be 600+ pages, lol. I enjoyed it but as we both agreed it got off to a slow start. I did read on her web site though that she has not ruled out a sequel so we shall see!

LMAO! I did feel that way in the beginning of the book because it took a while to grab me but I thought it picked up in the end. And I was shocked and heartbroken when Will died (I have to admit I didn't see that one coming, lol). But it did set Envy up perfectly. A lot of the stuff that happened in Rumors had to happen for Envy to be as scandalous as it was (and it was!!!) I think you should take a break and read something else maybe but come back to Envy soon because I think it will be worth it. Besides the fourth and final book comes out in October so you will be all set (I know that is a long time from now but still....lol)

So how are you enjoying Rumors? There is not a whole lot about San Pedro the town in the book but that is still cool that that is where they are living!

Giiirl, I just finished Envy this morning and it was the best in the series soooo good!!

I am glad you liked it! Wait until you get to the next one, after I finished that one I had to run out and get the third!

I think the ending was to be expected. I knew from the beginning that Elizabeth faked it but it was all a set up for the rest of the series. I think you will really like Rumors!

I am so glad you guys had a good time! It sounds great! I guess the stars come out in California, huh? I am pretty sure there was no one from the movie at any of the New Jersey release parties, LOL!!

I read the first one last month and I really enjoyed it! I think the next time I order I will get the second one.

You are too funny!! No I did not pre-order my Twlight DVD (I know, shame on me!! lol) but I am not really one to buy DVD's, I rarely re-watch them with the exception of a few romantic comedies that I can watch over and over. So I don't plan on buying it but I do have it in my netflix queue!! But don't feel bad I was at Borders with a bunch of teenagers and their parents for the midnight release of Breaking Dawn and I did not care at all...I was gonna elbow those kids outta my way if I had to to get my hands on a copy! LMAO

I am reading Jane Austen. Last month I read Sense and Sensibility and this month I finished reading Emma and Pride and Prejudice. I didn't like Emma because I thought she was snotty. I liked P & P though. I am going to start reading Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife. How are things at Bell. ELA is busy as ever! Have fun and don't forget the little people.

Dear Tollula: I am an author from Massachusetts. My debut novel HUNTING THE KING was published in April. If you enjoy reading a good thriller like DA VINCI CODE, you might like HUNTING. The novel revolves around a charismatic young woman named Molly O’Dwyer. Molly was five years old when she witnessed her mother die in a fire. She never knew her father. After her mother’s death, she was raised on the campus of a Jesuit college. Now an archaeologist, she has been recruited to participate on a dig in war torn Iraq. As a scientist she is compelled to discover whatever or whoever is buried under the sands of ancient Babylon. As an observant Catholic, she is scared that whatever she finds will have devastating consequences for her faith. There is a wonderful YouTube book trailer well worth watching if you have the chance. I agree it should have been in London when BOTH of the main characters were british! I didn't mind Hugh Dancy as Luke (who BTW in the book was American so that whole aspect of the movie was backward) because I had a totally differnt vision of Luke in the books and it didn't really fit his actuall description. I always pictured him as a really handsome man but a good bit older than Becky, like in his mid 40's .

There is no word that I have heard on Can You Keep A Secret? It is not even on imdb.com anymore and in pre-production.

I thought it was cute too! I thought the book was better (obviously) but I think Isla Fisher did a fantastic job bringing Becky to life. I didn't like some of the changes they made as in Luke being the editor of the magazine but other than that it was pretty funny! I was dying laughing at the dance scene!!!! Isla captured Becky perfectly in that scene.

I definitely will! I hear it is like Confessions and Takes Manhattan rolled into one, but we will see. But after seeing Definitely Maybe I LOVE Isla Fisher so I am hoping it is great. I saw one clip that had me dying laughing when she pretended she was speaking finnish, hillarious!
