I don’t think that anyone who wants to be a writer/author can do so without being a reader first.

“If there’s a book you really want to read but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.” -Toni Morrison

I tend to get snagged by a particular subject/genre for a while and then I’ll switch to something 180... more »

    Yeah, ^^
You have gotten well, I am glad
I had read James Allen, "As a man thinketh" and "Man King of the Body and Soul"
I planned to finished "Milligan Wars", Daniel Keyes..
At first it was boring, but when I reached up to the middle I love it, especially the super ability of Milligan's character like Tommy and Allen

Squee! Yeah, I've noticed on a lot of mangas you've written thoughtful comments, not stuff like "Wow, this is awesome lol." Mangas are worth critiquing too, and I'm not the only one who does so yeeeey!

XD I wish it was someone from a show or story or something, but I found it on deviantART.com as someone's OC, so the chances of it being more than just something out of someones imagination are very slim :P But it is a good one huh ^_^

Thank you very much! I am excited too, ;)
Let me know what you think of Acker, even if you hate her. I won't be offended, but I am curious about your opinion...

Excited? lol, thats cute TM:) Triads wasn't what I was expecting either. I wanted it to make me cringe and shiver like Exquisite Corpse, not the same thing at all...

It is only fair to warn you about Acker, she is definitely not for everyone. She's not horror, more kinda weird fantasy and erotica that switch from monologues to storytelling, if that makes sense. The first I ever read by her was Don Quixote, but see if you can get any of her stuff at the library.

Thanks for the support about grad school:) Its not that bad, but I like to complain about it. I actually just got my first job in my new field, which is not the same thing as my first job ever;).

I am sorry to hear that you are still not 100%. Hopefully you will have a great vacation and that will help to heal you.

Hey there, I see you actually finished Triads before me, lol, stupid graduate school! I really love Melusine, what an incredibly cool book:) Have you ever read Kathy Acker? You might like her, except she's girl/girl rather than boy/boy, if you know what I mean. How are you doing, by the way?

Hey, I actually just took out Triads which is Brite writing with Faust. It is also a short work, 198 pages. Haven't started it yet, but probably tomorrow after my papers are closer to done. Who knew that summer classes are like trial by ordeal...

Haha, so glad you appreciated that, just about anything with zombies thrown in is at least worth checking out;) I'm not really an action figure collector, but I have a real weakness for playsets.

I hope all goes well for you this week and you are given a clean bill of health.

You are most welcome;) Our tastes seem to run somewhat similar, I think, although your literary choices may be braver than mine. By the way, I don't know if you like action figures, but there is a Pride and Prejudice and Zombies playset available on Amazon. Just thought that was worth mentioning;) Hope you are feeling better.

Hey, no apologies necessary! I'm really sorry to hear you were so sick, and I truly hope you are feeling much better. I just started Bentley Little"The Collection" which I'm liking pretty well, and "The Werewolf in Lore and Legend" which is probably only for hopeless lycan fans like myself. I will check out Melusine, after Brite your opinion has some weight with me;)

While you're still semi up and about, peruse the shelves of those Shelfari friends you seem to have the most reading interests in common with. (Sheeh ... this is my day of the awkward sentence.) Anyway, good luck with all that.

The word to emphasize is "recovering".
    That's good!
It sounds like you might be in for another spate of recovery.
If you are up to reading, you may want to stock up on favorites to stack next to your recovery area to keep you company :)
