Timothy Gray

As Shelfari's design guy, I'm half artist and half computer geek. I'm really into User Interface Design and CSS/HTML coding, so my real world book collection is about half art/design books and half programming books. While I read mostly non-fiction books, I'm hoping that this job will inspire me to tackle some of the classics that my beautiful...more »

Tim, happy to see you online so shortly after deployment! Jason suggests you'd already have been up anyway. :)

Hey, I finished Ramola! Not the right book to start while dealing with pregnancy brain, but I survived and enjoyed it. Oh, and I was logged in as you when I attempted to update my shelf. You might want to fix some changes I made... ;)

Hi Tim I love shelfari and a few weeks back went through all the groups and found three that have not had life in them for about a year and although I have posted notes to both admin I have had no reply. Is it possible to take on the responsibility of co-admin I have been placing discussions on the page but would like to post to the members individually. Bennec gave me an address to ask this but my computer will not access it so I am asking you if you cou;ld look into Romantic Period Poets, Shakespeare and the Arthurian group whose admin is twy something (sorry). I have some friends who are willing to help with these groups.

Like the changes you've made to the "add a book" process. Appreciate having the process encapsulated in it's own applet like environment. Also, like the attempt at prediction of what I might like to add next. I think this is a real improvement that makes the process cleaner and more integrated with increased usability.

Please pass the pat on the back to the other engineers and folks involved. Good job!

There is one small glitch that I've noticed just within the last hour or so. Looks like something changed in the code that is making "you read this" to "you read this 2009 years ago" - this happened within the last 2hrs. Hover over my Lord of the rings books now the "Architecting Enterprise Solutions" and "The Data Modeling Handbook" the later is also appearing twice on my home page (but is ok on the shelf)

And of course, after sending that I *now* find the Import Books feature of Shelfari — pasted my Readernaut URL in (http://readernaut.com/danrubin/books/) and it seems to have worked like a charm! :)

tons :) now I just need to add everything here — starts to get difficult when you know the people who created multiple sites that do similar things (aka Readernaut and Shelfari, though my list of similar problems is much longer ;)

I do like what you've done with the place since I signed up, looking forward to plugging in all my data... just wish there was an easier way to share information like this across similar sites. That may be where the combination of OpenID/OAuth/Microformats becomes seriously useful — imagine if sites like Shelfari and Readernaut actually got together to make sure users of both could access information from the other, sort of a "friendly competitive sharing" ;)

Hey guy...Read an interesting interview with you on AppleMatters and scrambled over here to check out your shelf. We have 12 books in common, including several classics. Obviously, you've got good taste. ;)

Keep up the good work here on Shelfari. Love the site.

Thanks for making tagging easier with the sortable list edit. After a haitus of many months I am doing more, and more detailed, tagging. And it isn't taking ages, as it once did.

I noticed the Pursuit of Holiness on your shelf. I've got the audiobook, if you want to "borrow" the MP3s.

Although it's the first edition of the book, not the second one.

Did mom give you the book?
