As Shelfari's design guy, I'm half artist and half computer geek. I'm really into User Interface Design and CSS/HTML coding, so my real world book collection is about half art/design books and half programming books. While I read mostly non-fiction books, I'm hoping that this job will inspire me to tackle some of the classics that my beautiful wife has been raving about for years.
Books aside, I enjoy hiking, all things design, photography, video games and Apple gadgetry.
I also have a soft spot for interesting quotes...
"Outside of a dog man's best friend is a book. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read."
- Groucho Marx
"Art is the means we have of undoing the damage of haste. It's what everything else isn't."
- Theodore Roethke
"To lose one parent may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness."
- Oscar Wilde
"If you hold a cat by the tail you learn things you cannot learn any other way."
- Mark Twain
"Any man who reads too much and uses his own brain too little falls into lazy habits of thinking."
- Albert Einstein
"We learn from experience that men never learn anything from experience."
- George Bernard Shaw
"Letting your mind play is the best way to solve problems."
- Bill Watterson
"Inventing is a combination of brains and materials. The more brains you use, the less material you need."
- Charles F. Kettering
