Hi, again! The top vote getter had two votes more than the 2nd place vote getter (not including your vote), so it wouldn't have changed the outcome. Just wanted to let you know. Thanks and I hope you'll be joining us for the read. :-)
Hi, Manuela! We are closing the voting for the Canada group group read later this afternoon/evening (probably within a few hours). I'm not sure it will come down to one vote, but we actually weren't sure which book you were voting for. If you're here in the next few hours, could you pop over and clarify for us? Thanks so much!
I read Rockbound a few years ago as well, and plan to read, though haven't yet, King Leary. I just read The Way the Crow Flies a few months ago and really liked it. Haven't yet read Fall on Your Knees, but I found it at a used bookstore or sale, so I have it to read. I did read one by Alistair Macleod a few years back, but the title is not coming to me, nor do I remember it well. I've not read anything by David Adams Richards. I remember one of his book was part of Canada Reads, but it sounded really depressing, so it wasn't one I added to my tbr... I should look them both up again and see what else I might be interested to try. Thanks for the recommendations!
Question: are you a librarian and/or cataloguer? The way you type the titles (the capitalization) is making me wonder. I am both. :-)
hmmm, it's late, so I'll have to look again at your shelf, and see if there's anything I can recommend. I will ask this - have you ever listened to Canada Reads on CBC radio? It's been going for about 7 or 8 years, I think, and I always add to my tbr after listening to it (I've listened to it every year). You can listen to it online - they post it each day after it's happened. I always post a reminder of when it will air, and I'm not sure for 2011, but I bet you could still listen to the 2010 version. :-)

I plan to read Fall on Your Knees and Good to a Fault, but I haven't yet. I read The Jade Peony a few years back (but I honestly can't say I remember it well). I did read The Way the Crow Flies by Ann-Marie Macdonald (same author as Fall on Your Knees) just a few months ago, and it was really good, I thought.
I'm just curious. You do have a lot of Canadian books on your shelf, but it says you're from (in?) Italy. Are you originally from Canada?
Hi, Manuela! I'm from the Canada group and just wanted to stop by to welcome you to the group. It's not a terribly active group, but it tends to comes in spurts. There is a Welcome and Introductions thread if you'd like to introduce yourself there. We also have a review thread if you read anything by a Canadian author. Of course, feel free to contribute to the other threads as well! Enjoy! :-)
