I could not imagine my life without books. I have always loved to read and enjoy immersing myself in a wonderful story.
“I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of any thing than of a book! -- When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.” Jane Auston,... more »

Tiffany! Hey! I just got back on here because I have been reading so much lately. And I will be a lot this summer. What have you been reading since you had Matthew? Have you had time?

Tiffy! Talking to you about this site on Sunday made me want to get back on here so bad!!! So I am reading a book by Amanda Grange called Colonel Brandon's Diary. It's amazing. I've already read her Captain Wentworth's Diary, (because I adore him) and it was also great. I think after I finish the first one, I will start Pride and Prejudice. Whoo, kinda nervous about it though, Austen is hard to read! I know it is one of your favorites though. I hope you keep getting on here after Matthew comes, I like discussing books with you. Love, Amy

Have you read One Thousand White Women by Jim Fergus? Our book club gave it one of the highest ratings ever.

    Hi Tiffany,

I know I have to finish both of those!!

Cold Mountain has been what I'm mostly reading and right now I feel like I'm slogging through it a bit. I kind of like the story as a whole, but it's been hard to read more than a few pages at a time.

Rumor of War I read half of on my last vacation and then stalled since I want to push through Cold Mountain. I've loved that one so far.

I saw your dad the other day. He mentioned that Chris would be starting soon at the School. I hope he will come up and say hello.

I promise I'll finish the books soon and get them back to you. Work and family have just kept me so occupied. Thanks again for sharing these. I may try to participate in one of the book groups on goodreads next.

Hey you! I haven't gotten on here in forever, I have forgotten how much I loooooove this site. I am reading Never Let Me Go by Ishiguro for British Literature right now. We just finished Frankenstein and watched Shaun of the Dead, which was awesome. I have seen it before but this time it almost made me cry! I really want to read the Twilight series again, but I sold all of my books to the bookstore because I needed money! Haha. Anyway, what are you reading now?

Thanks on the FYI re Lost Symbol movie, 2012. I'm glad to see that Shutter Island is leading "the pack" in ticket sales over the past couple of weekends. Did you see Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey, Jr.? Fun.

I read Shutter Island when it was first published. You will not be disappointed in the movie. Leonardo DiCaprio has certainly matured as an actor, and Martin Scorsese stayed with the storyline.

Ah...I just finished it over the holiday. I thought it was very good. I had a little bit of trouble following the story in the beginning just because of the time leaps, but halfway through it clicked. I also read 1000 White Women and thought that was even more intriguing. I was telling a colleague about it today and encouraging him to read it, because I'd like to get his take on how they describe the Indian tribes.

I'm watching the frustrating TCU game right now. Now that I've gotten so into the team, they better not break my heart!!

Oh man, I am glad you are reading The Road. It is so good, I have never read anything like it before... amazing. Have you read The Lovely Bones? I saw the preview for the movie and it looked really good. I may want to read it, the film looks gorgeous!
