That pile is getting bigger and bigger...plus I still like to take notes by hand so there is that added mess...it never ends!!! :)

I've only done Oktoberfest here in the states. Not that big of a drinker but getting to Germany for it is on my bucket list. I do love me some German food though, heh. Oktoberfest and a run or two on the Nurburgring. Maybe I'll do European delivery on my next BMW.

Cool! I'm pretty good, been busy on a couple projects so haven't been able to read or write much in the last couple of months. I have the book sitting in my research pile but have yet to crack it open...hahaha, I know...bad of me. You having a good Oktoberfest? :)

Thanks, I'll let you know! :)
I paint and draw for work so the writing is a secondary pursuit.

Cool, I'll give a look to see if I can find it. Always nice to have something to base my created societies off of. I hate research but I find myself doing more of it than actual writing at this stage haha.

    Hi Thiliel,
Would that Courtly Culture book be of help to me as research into lifestyles of the times that I could adapt for my own writing?

The easiest way to find/read my stuff is to google my name: Mark Sumioka. I hope you like them. :)

Banks and Reynolds are some of my favorites, highly recommended.
I also should've added Charles Stross.

HI. Nice to be your friend. I love that you liked "Raise High the Roof Beam Carpenters." It's one of my all-time favorites next to Crime and Punishment, and The Grapes of Wrath. I'm also a writer. If you're ever interested in reading some of my short stories, I can send you links to the literary journals they were published in.

    The Ancient One says

Be aware in the moment and awaken the dreamer within. Be a painter of thoughts and yours will be a garden of earthly delights. Let your life be a personal revolution guided by spirit and you will see miracles happen every day. Befriend and nourish your inner child and you will experience joy hitherto unknown. If we begin our day with love we will manifest happiness and create a better world for one and all.

Definitely! I like your shelf, it's interesting. You certainly have a book-centric lifestyle. You must have so many recommendations. Please feel free to send any my way. They're always welcome... especially from someone as well read as you.

... on and on the Steampunk I largely agree, I am not a huge fan myself and am 'cyber'. However it was fun to see the "Sherlock Holmes" movie that recently came out, a lot of Steampunk energy going on there.
    Thanks for the book recommendation.
