    Hey Joyce! How are you?

Oh, tired? Yeah, I understand. You work hard.
Wow, that is really something. I am glad to hear that your family pays their respects to your deceased relatives. That shows honor and love for those that came before you. So it is called All Saints Day where you live? That's cool. We have a day similar to that called Memorial Day; a day where we remember those who have died in previous wars and those relatives that have passed on. It usually comes at the end of May. Another day we have is Veteran's Day which is kind of similar to that as well. We celebrate that this month actually, on the 11th.

Well, I did it!! What do you think? This is a new drawing(of myself) that I came up with just today. Took about an hour to do. It didn't come out exactly the way I wanted it to but it's good enough. I'll try to keep them coming and will post a new one at least once a month, maybe more if I get the time.
You can do it too Joyce! Anyone can draw. It doesn't have to be the same style as everyone else's. You have your own personal style that is unique to you and ultimately you are the judge that determines what is good and what isn't. Give it a try sometime! :)

We're both alike you know! My family, especially my brother, is always telling me that I need to take a break every now and then or I'm going to burn out. But how can I? Really, I have two jobs that I'm involved in but one is more volunteer work so I'm not getting paid. But between my real job and my volunteer job, there is SOOOO much to do, I have to try to manage it all AND go to school! It's a wonder I even have time to log in and chat!! I make time for that though because it is important to me.
And you're like me. I don't want anyone else picking up my job when I'm not there. I have things a certain way and that's how I like to have them when I return.
But I suppose I'll plan to take a vacation soon. I do need some extra time and as someone told me the other day, the time we get for vacation is OUR time that we earn and we should take it. When she puts it that way, she makes a good point.

No, I haven't read her books but if they get as much praise as you say, she must be good. I will have to remember that! Right now, I'm starting a new book called Pobby and Dingan by Ben Rice. Looks like a cute story. I'll let you know how it is when I get more into it!!

Have a great day my friend! Take care,

Hi, Grain! What a tiring and yet what an enjoyable weekend for us here! All my children were home and so it was a sort of family reunion for us...i missed pampering them! We stayed late every night and get together with relatives to chat, drink and had a karaoke, or watch horror movies. It was fun but we slept late the next day too!

Anyway, Ive just started reading Hunter's Moon by Lori Handland-i heard good reviews about this book so I'm curious.

The first book (a short story) i read by Julia London was Snowy Night With a Stranger..and i found it to my liking. I suggest you start Yours Until Dawn by Teresa Medeiros. I just finished reading her The Bride & The Beast---another wonderful book!

My husband and I might be in Manila (God willing) first week of January for the CFC Leader's Conference---why don't we meet then?

    Take care!

I hope you're enjoying Graceling, Joyce!

I will add The Graveyard Book to my reading list, it sounds like a great story! The only NG book I own is Neverwhere and I still haven't read it, so I'll probably be reading this one first.

I didn't know there were already rumors about the last book's title! But I have to agree... The Victors isn't really original. I also hope they'll come up with something more fitting.

Haha yeah, we probably are! :) When I was reading THG, I didn't like it when Katniss and Gale were with Madge... I was truly hoping that a love triangle wouldn't be formed between the 3 of them. At the time, I didn't want anyone to come between Katniss and Gale. But now, having read CF, everything's changed... ;) And as for the existence of District 12... now I truly don't know. Too many questions and not enough answers. I guess we'll just have wait and find out in (assuming the 3rd book will come out in Sept. next year)... 10 LONG months... arrgh!!!

Btw, I love you pic too... I once bought a mask similar to that one for Halloween.
Happy Halloween Joyce!! :) And happy reading!

Yep! Time flies when you're having fun! Actually, I probably need to incorporate more fun in my life as I'm a bit of an work-a-holic! Lol!
But it's good to be able to hang out with friends and have fun when you're young. Work and study is important but so are social relationships. I'm learning that myself!

Yeah, I should... heh. All my family tells me the same thing. I'm so used to working everyday or studying, I'm not sure what I would do with myself if I had time off!! Probably read and try to catch up with sleep, lol! I love what I do at work but it can wear me out sometimes too.

Thanks for the encouragment! I will continue to push forward and do my best! There are a lot of opportunities out there and I intend to find them! But for now, I will stick with what I got and continue to strive forward. :)

You do? Wow! Yeah, I was going to work on some new drawings and see if I can post them on here like I used to when I get chance. During my... mourning period with my loss, I kind of took a break from drawing as well so I haven't drawn anything in a while. But I will be drawing again and posting them each month(if I can keep up!). Thanks my friend! It's nice to know that someone appreciates my art work. Makes it all worthwhile.

Take care and I'll talk with you later!!

Thank you very much! It's hard to believe that I'm already 26. Seems like just yesterday I was just turning 16, in the hearth of my teen years!
    Here's to another 10 years!

That's great to hear! It's always nice to meet up with old friends and catch up. I think one of the best things about a relationship is being able to share your experiences and your feelings with your friend and you can be more yourself around them. I hope to re-unite with some friends that I haven't seen in a while and catch up with them.

Wow, sounds like you had a great time! The beach sounds exciting! I'd like to go sometime. The view of the ocean must be awesome.
And of course reading is always a good thing when you're off on vacation too! I most certainly agree!

Thanks. It is VERY hard to do however. See, I go to school in the middle of my work day, go back to work when class is over and have to stay late to make up the time. Fortunately it's only one day a week this time but before I was doing 2 or 3 classes like this a week and I would be so drained by the end of the day. It is hard but I'm used to it and I will be finishing school soon so I won't have to do it for much longer.
Thanks for the encouragement my friend! I will keep it going!
I think you will enjoy the story. Like I said, it's a slow read but not a dull one. Each main character has his or her own little story that helps explain the stories of the other characters and overall it has a gentle feel to it. Definately one of my favorites!

Have a great day my friend! Talk to you later! :)

Me too. I'm buying books that catches my fancy but my TBR is just piling higher. Lately, I just felt like reading historical romances and limiting my paranormal reads. Anyway, I have 3 books who will arrive from my sister in law (from US) today and I'm eager to know what they are. The only time i can read is before going to bed - there's so much work to be done at home -my plants need tending etc and i can't do it on weekdays as I'm also a working Mom.

Have you tried reading Julia London's? I am curious with her books i found in the internet. I've read one short story of her and I liked it.

All in all, I hope you'll enjoy the long weekend ahead? Where are going to spend your Halloween? Take a break and have some fun!

We totally should! I love our discussions as well :) I really hope you'll enjoy Graceling and I'm looking forward to discuss it with you afterwards!! I've also read Fire, which is really good but Graceling remains my favorite between the 2. Fire is a prequel, the storyline is set some 30 yrs before Graceling. Kristin Cashore's next book (Bitterblue) will be a sequel to G (6 yrs after) with a lot of the same characters (including the 2 main characters in G), so I can't wait to read it!!

I feel the same about Gale and Peeta. I was leaning towards Gale at the beginning of CF, but the moment Peeta took care of her (sketched in her book, baked for her,...) I was rooting for him. And of course, who could not fall for him after he gave her the pearl and the pictures of her family & Gale, and I love the way he's always looking out for her. And I don't know why, but I have a feeling that something could maybe happen between Gale and Madge? Like when Gale was badly hurt, it was she who gave the medicine to heal his wounds. I would love to see Katniss and Peeta end up together, and for Gale and Madge to be a couple at the end of the series. What do you think?

I know! I asked myself that very question!! Did District 12 ever existed or is it now destroyed? I asked a few friends about it and they thought that Gale meant it was destroyed. But I'm still not sure. But at the same time... if District 12 never existed, then does this mean all the other districts never existed as well (including District 13) ? If so, where are they taking Katniss to, if not to District 13? Wow, I can't wait to find out!!

Oh I'm glad you now have a copy of Graceling! And the last one... it was clearly for you!

I think Catching Fire was even better than The HG, but just barely... they're both amazing. The end of CF surprised me a lot. I was not expecting an interruption of the games... and I was clueless as to how Katniss and Peeta would both survive after all this (I hoped they would find a way to both survive like in HG) so I was relieved when that happened... well, assuming that Peeta is still allright... if something bad happens to him (looses his voice, disappears or worse, dies), I'll be very disappointed! So, after reading CF, are you still team Katniss? Or Peeta or Gale? And what did you think of the ending? I think I stared at ''END OF BOOK TWO'' for like a full minute haha! (I was shocked when Gale said that there weren't any District 12...)

Hi Joyce, nice to hear from you again!
Yes, thanks. I just turned 26 this month and they say one of the first
things that goes as you age is your memory. I'm getting old, lol. Just kidding.
But that is great to hear! I am proud of you and I know that you'll do well with your
    new job. Congratulations!

Yes, vacation is always a good thing. Get plenty of rest. Whenever I take vacation from work I usually find more work to do at home! One of these days I will take time off for myself.

I'm doing good actually! I'm still trying to get through school and trying to work at the same time. It won't be long as I'll be graduating soon as well.
Have a great day and I hope to talk to you soon! Enjoy your books! It's always nice
to find new great books to add to your collection. :)

I'm also a strict MOm to my children, especially my two girls. Well, it pays to wait for the right man to come along. I've been married for 24 years now, too. It's not always smooth sailing but with the right man, you'd be able to hurdle all the big waves.

Yeah, we tend to get downright romantic what with the romance novels we read but who cares? It's really good to fall in love. Yours Until Dawn is very good book. I just purchased from Power Books "Some Like it Wild" by Teresa Medeiros but haven't found time to read it yet.

So here's wishing you the best that God destined for you. Be hearing from you soon.

Hello! I had a very weekend---we celebrated CFC-Leyte 19th anniversary last Sat &Sun and we had dances and competition, i was bone tired by the time we finished with the celebration but it was enjoyable as a whole.

I'm currently reading Teresa Medeiros' The Bride and the Beast--i found this treasure at Booksale last Friday at a very cheap p[rice--hard bound pa! I've already read two fo her books, Yours Until dawn and A Whisper of Roses. So far, i found them all funny and endearing!

You should find time for yourself , not only with books but with your lovelife! I'm talking because i'm happily married hehehe with grown up kids (my eldest s 24 and my youngest is 16).

    Be hearing from you soon!
