I'm just a wee poet. I read way too much, and it's sort of the only way I can meditate. It's rare I don't have a book in my hand, whether I'm going to or coming from work. Lucky I don't drive, otherwise I'd crash a lot.
It's horrible to say, but I treat my books better than I do people I know. I'm sad when a book I own gets ripped or mangled... more »

I'm going out on a limb and venturing this is one of my favorite books I've ever read. Hedges describes his time in different war zones, explaining away the reasoning behind conflict and aggression. I truly felt for him for being in every position he ever put himself in. Hard wouldn't be the right description of what he had to witness in all those terrible times.

Burroughs took me on a ride, and subsequently, I can never read this book again. I loved it so much, and the way he wrote it is still incredible to this day.

One of the best books I've read in ages. I walked past it in Chapters many many times, until finally I picked it up. I was not disappointed. It really shows you how other cultures live, and the differences between the West and Iran are immense. Read this book and recommend it to others!

I saw the movie first, which was the better choice, because then I read the book...and absolutely hated it. Thank god someone re-wrote the screenplay, because the gist of what Palahniuk wants to say is there, but otherwise, this book sucks.

I love everything Leonard Cohen. Some of his ultimately best work is in this book, and I go back and back and each time, find something more new and more beautiful...
