You never forget your first love, especially when you're torn apart by past generation's envy, jealousy, hate & lies. She was his rock. He was her home. Some things will never change despite 8 years apart. I'm pretty sappy when it comes to movies, but this book did make me tear. He writes; she reads. My favorite line of the book...? It was to the effect of "it was his way of telling her he loved her & he never wanted to see her again ". Woo... ! LOL that part got me. :-) I feel like I went on a journey with this book, it wasn't a quickie read for me. That's a good thing. It means I got emotionally invested with the characters & when their heart strings pulled, mine did as well.

Good book. Fast read. Cover to cover in about 2 days. The one main reason for the 4 stars is this: I liked the Angela McKenzie character well enough however she seemed to be written with immature tenancies. I mean she's FBI, an analyst but still FBI nonetheless. I guess I envisioned something different. Her Romeo (Romero) however, I think that character was well written. Alpha male, pined over anything with estrogen but with eyes for only his girl. Just the way I like 'em. LOL. Like I said, fast read with plenty of action. Looking forward to other books in this series
