Melissa

Hi, I'm Melissa. You can usually find me poking around the YA section of Borders, you'd probably just mistake me for one of the 15 year olds lol But in fact, I am an ALA Card carrying Librarian working with K-5 students. I have a soft spot for YA Lit, fairy tale retellings (especially versions where the Princess kicks butt, and fractured fairy... more »

How did you like Ophelia? I so enjoyed that last summer...it felt like the back story or Rosencrantz and Guildernstein but without the whole..."heads, heads" monotony

Hmm, good question! I'm really not sure which one is best to start with, but I agree probably earlier in the series is better. Wintersmith is a good book though, I just read mine a few days ago. ;)

Hmm. I started near the beginning, I think, but maybe not *right* at the beginning, the first few discworld aren't as clever/funny.
Maybe MORT, Reaper Man or Men At Arms.

I liked the book too...I thought it easily could've been 100 pages shorter somehow and the epilogue was so for the movie version. But I thought it was awesome that everything tied in and no one was infallible. Jasper Fforde's new book comes out tomorrow!!! Yay for a new Thursday Next novel! July was the month of new releases...it rocks!

I'm bad and haven't actually read it yet. I got a random burst of inspiration one night and decided to add all of the books currently on my shelves (as well as ones I have read from the library). I have too many books.

I also wanted to ask - do you get Caldecott/Newbery posters for your library? Our ed department wants one of those retrospective ones for the education resource area, but I can't find one to save my life. Some people from LJ said they got theirs from vendors, but alas...

I don't know what this is but I joined it. I recommend you bring 2 bags of sour patch kids if you see spiderman 3. 1 is not enough.
