Drew is an overthinking, self conscious, delightful, somewhat deviant, bookworm and comic nerd. Newly clean and sober, he has found himself thinking clearly, if not constantly and repetitively. Manic episodes of pronounced excitement, though short, cause him much embarassment. Weighted down by the large volume of unread books in his collection,... more »

Glad you liked it. Luckily, the rest of the trilogy is also awaiting you. My son and I think it would be a great HBO series -- about 5 years worth. But I don't think the audience is ready for such a dark look at American society, and brightening it or changing it in any way would ruin it.

Would you like to give some kind of explanation as to why you're reading "I Feel Bad About My Neck?"

sadly, i'm not the glibbest gal in the book, so i'll probably leave the reviews to those who revel in them. i am, however, interested in reading more palahniuk and i've see you've got a few books of his on your shelf. what would you suggest for someone who has only read fight club?

ha - i pretty much signed up with the idea of devoting ridiculous to mildly obscene amounts of time. thanks for the tip, though - i'm obviously a complete greenhorn. would you also recommend writing reviews?

Great shelf, by the way. Just for fun, I recommend a James Lee Burke book. His latest is pretty good.

Well, let me first confess that I've only read two Houellebecq books myself, "The Possibility of an Island" and "HP Lovecraft: Against the World, Against Life;" but that said, his novel "Platform" is not only his most notorious and well-known, but what many of his fans call his best as well, and which really touches on so many of the things that he's well-known for. I haven't read it myself, but it's where I'd recommend starting.

Dear Management, Drew sounds like he could tell a story or two and talk about books. Can he come out and play?

I rated the first 100 or so. I haven't rated some of the new postings. I haven't gone onto librarything yet, after spending so much time picking out books on here I needed a break. Do you have any recs for me from your bookshelf?
