This new icon picture of yours looks like a period portrait from Russian poetry - quite an effect.
I posted a link to your Russian & Soviet Literature group in a group of mine called JARS. We have an ongoing Russian Study there, feel free to check it out, perhaps together we can generate traffic among the interested.[br/][br/] http://www.shelfari.com/groups/32350/discussions/182887/A-Russian-Study[br/][br/]Thanks,[br/]AndiK
p.s. "il faut cultiver notre jardin" -- my favourite line in all of candide....

hi koroviev, is that message really for me? or is it a mis-sent?
Moskva-Petushki is still on my "to do" list. I hope to reed it next week in Berlin, between visiting gay bars and art museums :))

take a look at this, I love them! hope you'll love them too! I like 'star called sun' the best!
P.P.S gosh, you are a shelfari member since 15th of july 2007...the day I turned 18
Oh, oh, how are you? I am dying to know if you liked 'Under the volcano'...I am longing for that book, maybe this summer I'll get to re-read it...well, I have listened to the music an entire afternoon, while washing dishes and cleaning the house for my mother's return (she had been in a trip for a week and the house was a mess) and the songs were really fresh and nice. I would make them a little bit more daring and eclectic, but for a start they are pretty good! I am a stressed being...the exams approaching and I can't get really studying, you know..I feel like wasting my time, and it's really frustrating... sometimes I decide I am too 'depressed' to learn and I spend an entire afternoon reading a book of some sort and going out at night, alone, in the city, walking, imaging how it would be this time next year when my entire life would have been changed...well, I guess a nostalgia of some sort doesn't let me breathe. hope you are fine...and hope you would tell me what have you been up to recently! P.S. sorry for the late reply, I have been in holiday in the countryside, with no internet!
wow! are you a pilot? or studying to become one?!? well, this is the book that haunts my dreams lately, but I don't have time right now for re-reading it: "Under the Volcano" by Malcom Lowry! it is...simply intoxicating! so, please, for the sake of my sanity, read it!
heylo Koroviev! how's your garden? I spoke with a friend today and she said she didn't like russian literature because she found it 'plain' with no writing style and she was also bored by the lack of 'metaphores' and the 'cruelty and darkness' of russian writers. and about "The dead souls" she said that the subject is good but the writer had no talent...whoa, and I thought their cool, sharp tone the most bewildering of styles...
