Hey foxtrot. Surprised to see the book "Killer Angels" missing from your shelf. I am a big war book aficionado too and I think it is one of the best I have read. A very interesting battle.

Hey! Thanks for accepting my friend request. You have some very interesting books on your shelf and I will be sure to browse them for reading ideas. Now I have a wierd question for you...I've never read a military book before but loved the movie, Basic. You know of any interesting books that are like this movie: action packed, good dialogue, believable characters, with a great storyline? Any recommendations. Thanks again and take care.

Busting caps and going to church in the O.C. None of the three seem to go together. Amen and pass the ammunition.

I haven't quite gotten around to reading the Walt Disney biography, but I've heard excellent reviews. I'll be sure to write up my 2 cents when I finally get through it. What are you currently reading?

Hey, glad to know you're a fan of the show. If we could ever get Lorelai to read a book for more than the first sentence, then maybe we can discuss starting a shelf on Shelfari.

Thank you so much! Those history teachers at my school are worthless compared to what you've recommended!

I just got your e-mail. Ghost Soldiers is absolutely phenomenal. Rumor of War was one of the first books I read on the Vietnam War. It's definitely more from more a jaded point of view on war, but I like it because he wrote it right after he got back from the war and it's realistic.

Okay, question. I read the descriptions for "Band of Brothers" and "Citizen Soldiers" and they sounded kind of alike. Or do they cover different parts of the same war? I definitely want to read them...just wondering which I should read first - if order matters.

Oh, I'm glad you popped up!! I noticed you had some fiction and factual war novels on your shelf. A big coincidence...I was just asking history teachers at my school today which books were best to read about World Wars I and II to learn about the who, what, where, and when. I feel I need to learn a bit more about the facts to understand the backdrops of novels like "All Quiet on the Western Front."

SO, the book I asked them about was "Flags of Our Fathers." Was it good? Give a lot of factual info? Let me know which books you recommend. Jen

    Hey!

You look like you could be standing in my back yard! Ever been to NTC? You are military, right?
How did you like Flags of Our Fathers? I've been meaning to read that.
