Not yet, but I just don't want to end up living in a creepy neighborhood, on the other hand, spooky cool is okay. I've heard west LR, NRL, and Chanel (Channal?) area are nice also. I like the Rivermarket area a lot and have been to one show at The Rev. I am just trepedacious about moving to a city I know nothing about. I want to work anywhere that will have me as a counselor. Thanks and Cheers.

What do you think about living in NLR? I'm up in NWA but think I may have to go to your neck of the woods for a job. Any pointers? Thank you.

Hi T.! How are you? I'm doing very well. I've been busy working and getting to know more about life in China. It's been amazing and a very exciting time for me.

How are you? I hope life's treating you well. What's new? I don't get to check in on FB very often, but I think about you all the time! Let me know what's new when you get some time. I miss you!

Yeah ... it's been really great being here so far! The Lantern Festival was wonderful! The holidays here seem so much more creative, but maybe that's just because it's all so new to me. I was able to see some of the lanterns flying out over the Pearl River, then I went to my local "watering hole" to celebrate the end of the Chinese New Year. Dancing, singing, lots of drinking games ... ended up getting pretty buzzed, but didn't have to be to work until 11:00 a.m., so it was all good. I've already lost about 10 pounds though ... I've had absolutely NO diary products, so I think that's the reason. Lots of noodles ... beef and rice, egg noodles, etc.

I wish you were here too! That would be fun! It would be awesome to have another English speaking person around ... we are few and far between here in Huizhou! Sometimes the toughest part of the culture shock is just the frustration that can come with trying to understand, and trying to be understood. It's all been good though. I have a few fairly close friends and they help me alot.

I hope you are okay and doing well. Please remember to smile! I will talk to you soon. --G

FB is censored in China, at least it is where I work. I hear you can access it through a proxy server, but I have little to no experince in that kind of thing.

Chinese New Year was awesome here. I definitely came at just the right time. The fireworks over the Pearl River were absolutely amazing. About 100 times more intense than any display I have seen in America on the 4th of July.

I'm with you on V-day too. I did nothing for Valentine's day. I guess I'll just quit V-day until I'm no longer single! LOL !!! The Chinese Lantern Festival is coming up this Sunday. I am looking forward to seeing all the lanterns at night.

I hope you and your family are all doing well! I miss FB and talking to everyone on a nightly basis. Work is going pretty well, but it's very busy right now. TTYS! --G

Hello Tesha! Well, it's official ... I CANNOT access FB from China, so I'm leaving you a message on your Shelfari page and hoping you get it soon. I hope you're doing well. I miss talking to you guys on FB, but am having a TERRIFIC time in Asia. The Chinese New Year was awesome and I'm slowly adjusting to life in Huizhou. Drop me a line when you get a chance. I'd love to hear from you again and stay in contact with you! --G

LMAO .. but from your phone? That DOES seem kinda weird ... although I'm not sure why, exactly. I'm used to seeing your FB phone messages (which I rather enjoy) all the time.

Hey Gurl! I didn't know you were still on Shelfari! Do you get this message on your phone too? I'm used to seeing you on FB, but it's good to know you're still here too! I haven't been on Shelfari for a long, long time, but I finally had a chance to log in and check my account. I thought it would be worse than it was, what with me being on dial-up right now, but it was actually pretty fast (of course it's 5:15 a.m. as I write you this, so "traffic" is pretty light).

I hope you're doing well. I know we haven't been able to talk much recently, but you know I think about'cha! Write me if you get time. TTYS. --G

HEY !! Check in time. I can't believe that my last note to you was only two weeks ago. It seems so much longer ago than that. Still on the job hunt? No piano bar?
I've started one myself also. Job hunt that is. My "hiatus" is just about over. Going to have to get back to it..... Can't make up my mind if I'm glad about that or not ...
    What's up, Tesh?

serving martinis at the piano bar yet?
And if not ... how are you otherwise Tesha?

    I don't know Tesch, I don't know ...
working the piano bar would be different than working a restuarant ...
but then, I do pretty much the same thing ....
if I get my way ... I'm going to built a high topwer and stay in there ...
keep the piano and the drafting table and the books all up there ...
(and a bottle or two of Patron)
and let the rest of the world go to h*ll ..

you would have been good at the bar ...rethink it ...

Hey Tesh; a PIANO BAR !! I Love it !! That's so cool! And Don't worry about your husband. I mean, I'm not making light of him or anything (hell, I don't even know him) but that's probably the Army/marines in him to some degree, you think? He's always out there being protective, or I would imagine. That's what he's trained to do, no? And, you also, I don't know you that well either, but I really can't see you picking up some guy in a bar. Hell, who knows, maybe I'll run into you and I can do my quasi-classical jazz new age thing .... whatever the hell type of style it is that I play !!
But good luck with it !!

    Hey T!

How's it going? I thought I would say "Hi" since it's been awhile. What'cha readin' lately? I hope it's something good and that you'll share if it's even better than that. . .LOL.

I'm about to move up to Nor. Cal. again for a new teaching job I just landed last week. I start next Friday at a middle school (8th grade) and I'm pretty excited. It will be something new, and hopefully much more permanent than my recent months of subbing, but we'll see.

I hope you're doing well. Don't be a stranger, kay?

    TTYS.
