    Hello Terry

My name is Danielle Hartman. I am the web marketing coordinator for Vire Press, publisher of French Letters: Virginia’s War, a World War II historical fiction and finalist for two awards, the Willie Morris Award for the Best Southern Fiction of 2009 and the Military Writers Society of America award for Best Historical Fiction of the year.

I want to invite you to Hastings on Gem Lake Road in Amarillo on November 20, 2009 at 6:00 pm. The author, Jack London, is a native West Texan who graduated from West Texas State University and the University of Texas Law School. He served in the Army as an officer in the Quartermaster Corps and now, as an avid historian, Jack is devoted to preserving this important piece of American history.

Jack will talk about the life in the American homefront during WWII, days of rations and V-mails and women leaving home to enter the work force, a time when the war was changing people without them knowing it. He loves to visit and I'm sure you would enjoy getting to know him.

For further information on Jack or to read an excerpt of French Letters: Virginia’s War please visit www.virepress.com

We look forward to seeing you at Hastings.

    Best Wishes,
    Danielle Hartman

Good to meet you too, Terry. No, I'm not a member of the Panhandle Writers. Perhaps I might write in my retirement. I spend much too much time working these days, as evidenced by my delay in replying! I loved writing in school and dreamed that I might write someday, but that somehow got lost in the process of "life". Perhaps in a few more years with a few more life experiences, I'll have something relevant to write about!

Terry, congratulations on "To Keep a Promise!" Sounds great. I'll watch for it when it comes out. I'm kinda between single titles right now. My editor has my finished on her desk, but I haven't gotten word on their decision. And I've written one of the stories in the Give Me a Texan anthology with Jodi, Phyliss, and DeWanna. That one comes out in February 2008. Then we sold a second anthology called Give Me a Cowboy that releases in 2009. Hopefully, I'll soon have a new single title to announce though. Good luck to you. I hope you keep writing until you can't type anymore.
