Hi there! I'm just dropping by to welcome you to The 100+ Book Challenge. The idea of the group is pretty much self explanatory - try to read 100 or more books in a one year period. If you do have any questions, please feel free to send a message to me or Tenia. In the meantime, good luck reaching your goal!

Dear Teresa: I’m an author from Massachusetts. My debut novel HUNTING THE KING was published in April. It has received high praise from Booklist, ForeWord Magazine and the Midwest Review. If you enjoy reading a good thriller, you may well like HUNTING. The story revolves around a charismatic young woman named Molly O’Dwyer. Molly was five years old when she witnessed her mother's death in a fire. She never knew her father. After her mother's death, she was raised on the campus of a Jesuit college in Boston. Now an archaeologist, she is recruited to participate on a dig in war torn Iraq. As a scientist she is compelled to know who or what is buried under the sands of ancient Babylon. As a loyal Catholic, she is scared that what she finds may have devastating consequences for her faith. There is an awesome YouTube book trailer well worth watching to give you an idea of the power of the book. Thanks.

    Hi Teresa,
Thanx for sharing your thoughts...Its just that I loved the book too...In fact, it stands second in my Koontz list! You might wonder why....My first rated Koontz book is The mask. If you have never read it, please do....I think you will love it...it is about the real time travel (read: reincarnation)...If i may suggest a book which I loved for its flawless, supreme romanticism, Please try Yargo, by Jaqline Susann(famed author of Valley of the Dolls). it was the bookI read when I was twelve....lol
Though I am male, romanticism, i think never fails to stir the heart of either gender.....IMO, stefan could be played by the tennis player...Boris Becker....hes German, and fits the bill for Stefan, at least lookwise.....

The Princess Bride is quickly coming up on my list for this month also, I think it might even be next! We'll have to compare notes when we're done...I LOVE the movie and hear the book doesn't disappoint.

As for the new member page, I will bump it up in the discussions but it it disappears, as things tend to do, then search the discussions for FAQ new members and it should pop up!

If there's anything else, let me know!

    Happy reading,
    Nicole

Hi Teresa, welcome to Play Book Tag! I have been traveling for a couple of days so you may already know some of this information but I wanted to drop by and let you know about some of the activities going on with the group this month. First and foremost, every month we have a tag that is chosen by a randomly selected member from Shelfari's top 200 tags. The tag for July is fairy tales! Once you have read a book listed under the fairy tale tag (or even a book that you think fits the tag nicely...we're not too picky), post it under the discussion July tag: collective reads for our shelf. Books that are posted are then added to the group shelf and they also usually spur discussion!

We also have a brand new game: Tag It To The Max. This game is a little more complicated but you can find rules for it if you search our discussions for Rules for tag it to the max. Basically, you are assigned a tag by the administrator for one of the top 200 Shelfari tags and then you read one book for each consecutive tag. This game has been going on for a little over a week now but if you're interested it's not too late to join! This game will end August 31.

We also have a number of other get-to-know you games and a FAQ for new members...all of which you can find by searching our discussion threads.

I see that you have read Ender's Game, that book was just recommended to me by someone else. What did you think of it? I am currently reading Enchantment by the same author for the fairy tale tag, have you read it? If not, it might be one that you enjoy! I also saw that you are currently reading a Tammy Hoag book, she is one of my favorite authors. I hope you are enjoying it. If you have any quesions about PBT please don't hesitate to ask me. :)

    See you on PBT!

    Happy reading,
    Nicole
