Teak

I love to read books written by women. Every night I have a book cracked open til the wee hours.
I live in a Vermont small town where a river runs through and a mountain abuts. The mountain is actually not from the American continent but from Africa. My town is a wild town, grown from independent thinkers, and ever deepening. We celebrate...more »

Hi! Just read your notes on "how do you know when the book just isn't going to be a good read?". Loved your style and obvious sense of humour.

i was just checking coz most of the time people who are drown in books are dead in lives and live in dreams and hopes. They live with characters in books and often ignore characters around them. Thats why i ask this question to every book reader. Anyways how old are you and what sort of books you like? And most of all which profession are you in?

I am impressed and moved by your poetry. You have a strong talent. Your recent poem about your father was visceral, and I will make it a part of my "personal" anthology.

My city also has a "First Friday". We have a magnificent performing arts center and plenty of independent thinking (university here) among the very conservative timber industry icons.

I will enjoy watching for your future work.

I don't know why you'd want me to, but if you'd like, I'll delete your poem. Let me know.

Hey, hey. Your post had been used, it's just that given the reply button you hit it was posted up a bit higher in the thread...that's why it's always a good idea to use the original reply button at the top of the thread.
    Cheers!

Teak, I hope you don't mind, I removed your apology from the original poetry thread...I personally don't feel anyone should EVER apologize for their work, and should always write about what moves them, whether it be cornflakes, parcheesie or parents! Your poems about your mum have been touching!
Please come by and collaborate with us, will ya?
    (and check out today's trivia...)
    Cheers!

Today, I am "Si". An eleven year old native Fijian of N'garu. I am trying to proof to my father of my capacity to fidh with my older brothers. At moment, I am on a hell of a storm, floating over the South Pacific... holding on a coconut tree. I wonder if I will survive...
