Welcome to my ever growing bookshelf! ^_^
I used to hate to read. Then my sis-in-law hooked me with the Archie comics in my early teens. I was steadily reading the series but I got curious why most of my classmates are into Sweet Dreams. So fortunately we had a very yellowish old copy of it at home. I started to read a chapter a day. A few days later, I've already finished my first book with no pictures on it! Next book that I got hooked was the Sweet Valley High series. I was really into it that I got to read most of em'. In due time, I did move to other genres. And thus my collections of books began to take room in my small bookshelf. I did sift through my collection a year ago and here are what's left of them.
I became a book lover. I love books that are pristinely new. I love it when it's unique. I love it when the cover is colorful or whimsical. I love it when it's interactive. I love it whether its hardbound or paperback. I especially love it when there's a book sale. I love rummaging through the book store to look for a new book to bring home. I love it when there's colorful illustrations.
I also have this quirky habit to cover it with plastic before I read them. I dunno why, but reading it without a plastic cover gets to me. It feels like there's something missing and I can't concentrate on the book. You might say I'm OC when it comes to my books. People who've I'd borrowed books from seems to be happy that I borrow their books because if its not covered I cover it for them. O_o
Another habit would be for me to stock up on books. And currently I got a lot of books that I hadn't read yet and they are all tucked away in my overflowing bookshelf. I just wanted to have a book at hand in different genres so that when the mood strikes. I could easily pick up the book I want to read that time.
If the book is good I recommend them to my sisters and nieces. In turn, I became their personal library of sort. ('',) The only thing lacking would be to ask for a rental fee. He he he.
