Katniss has done it. She won, and she isn't going home alone. With Peeta by her side she goes on home thinking the worst is done. But the nightmares are only beginning. The Capitol is angry at her little stunt to keep both her and Peeta alive, so they decide to take control of her entire life. At least at The Hunger Games you knew what to expect. Here in the districts they can kill you and make it look like an accident. Whats worst they can kill your whole family and friends right along with you. All this is in Katniss mind when she hears about strange rumors concerning a revolution, and how she is the spark that finally started the flame.

There is nothing that can hold a candle to The Hunger Games, but Catching Fire serves as an excellent bridge between book's 1 and 3. When a series usually consist of 3 books book 2 is almost always bound to be a bridge between books and Catching Fire serves this plus it gives us more clues and answers questions while giving us more that I expect will be answered in book 3.

Katniss is as independent as ever and I just love her for that. She seems more stronger now, but at the same time she isn't putting a barrier between her and the world anymore. She is letting people in. Oh and she is as smart as in previous installments. All in all in the Katniss department we see a little of character development that is just enough to start off book 3 and keep us happy.

One of the only things that let me down about this book is that I didn't get to know Gale as well as I would have liked. I wanted to know more about him than his rough exterior. I wanted more Gale time. But that don't mean I am on Gale Team, I am still Team Peeta. In fact if this book did anything is make me more of a Team Peeta member! Peeta is just so sweet and he really means everything he says, and at the same time if it comes to his or Katniss life he will take every precaution necessary to prolong both if not only Kat's.

I say he would make an excellent spokesman for the rebellion. Oh and yes, I am all for the revolution. The sooner the better! One thing this book definitely didn't lose was it's suspense. Sure I expected some things, other's I didn't, and some things I kind of had some idea they were there while other's took me by surprise.

Oh and I still find it hard to remember the names O.o Why must they be so weird!

The ending was a total cliffhanger. I understand why Katniss acts like she acts by the end, but I think that she should stay still for just a minute and take

I had this book In my shelf for I don't know how long and I really regret not having read it earlier.

Katniss is the hunter, the sister and the mother. She has had more responsibilities than any kid her age should endure. But since life isn't perfect things are about to get worse. It's time for "The Hunger Games". "The Hunger Games" are a show that has 24 competitors, two for each district, a boy and a girl, and the main point of the game is to kill each other in front of thousands of spectators. When the name of her sister is chosen in the draw in a second Katniss decides to volunteer for her little sister, making her a contestant in "The Hunger Games".

I have one world for this book: Epic.

Absolutely looved it! It has everything you could wish for, violence, suspense, thrill, a magnificent and original story line, and a bit of romance. It's so awesome.

The main character, Katniss, is competing for the first place in my favorite characters in YA (her competition is Rose from Vampire Academy). She is strong. independent ans so smart! She is a very powerful main character and I believe that you would all love her.

The world is caotic, full of hunger and despair. Katniss grew up taking care of her little sister and hunting to survive. Now there are some other characters like her sister Prim, her mother, Gale and Peeta.

I am part of the Peeta team! Gale is okay, but I don't know him that much, not like I know Peeta. Peeta is charming and so sweet.

The things that happen on "The Hunger Games" are horrible, the extremes people will take to survive. And the writing of the author gives us such a clear picture.

I don't know what else to say, I just love it. It has a perfect balance. I wish for everybody to read it. The only thing that was a little bit like "uh?" where the names. Katniss? Peeta? Prim? Weird, but original!

Read it, read it, read it.

This is not as good as I thought it would be.

Trying to co live with the bad decision she made in the last book, Ever tries to move on and find some sort of 'normal' in her life. Damon certaintly got freaked out when she told him about her wrong choices, but he still keeps loving her. Horray. However there is trouble in paradise, not that there wasn't before, since an old friend comes back into Ever's life. Not only this but apparently living an immortal life comes attached with some fatal future disasters that not even Damen could predict.

What can I say? When I started this series I, like other people, spotted the similarities between The Immortals and Twilight but after Blue Moon I thought the whole thing was just in the first book Evermore. I couldn't be more wrong. In the core this book is called New Moon.

Though the main character doesn't become a pile of nothingness like Bella since she has found her "wolf" (Jude- Another guy) quite soon. So, I was happy for that. Oh, and Damen? Kept annoying me the whole book. Mr. Damen Cullen walks a fine line between his two persona's. I don't even know who he is anymore really, if a vain but straight forward guy or just a guy that wants to be okay with karma just so his soul doesn't go to hell. I was screaming the whole time DECIDE.

Ugh and the so called friend Haven. Goodness I cannot stand her. She meddles in everything. She gets on my nerves, and I truly don't know why Ever hasn't ditched her. Ever was okay the entire book, she didn't annoy me but she didn't surprise me either. The two characters that I love in this book are Roman and Jude. At least Roman knows who he is. And Jude is so cute and you can understand him.

The parts of the plot that didn't have any similarity with New Moon I liked, though somethings were never answered by the end, like for example she pushed Jude to the other side of the planet (not the other side of the planet but you know exaggerating never hurt anyone) and we didn't know what happen to him. Also something involving her sister, which I am very confused about since I thought that after you cross the bridge you weren't suppose to ever see them away. Please if someone found the loophole comment and let me know just the page and the book.

Also Ever keeps making crappy decisions, she is very impatient. All in all, I will read the next book if only to know what happen to Jude and Ever's sister and see how it all goes from here. Also I will read it cause I am a series junkie and I just have to know for myself.

This story has some intriguing elements. The whole mystery factor and the ending I think were my favorite parts of the story.

Grace Divine is the daughter of the pastor. She is what you would classify as the perfect daughter. But she can only be tainted by one thing. And that is Daniel. Daniel is the family's bis secret, a secret everyone seems to know about Grace. Daniel had been missing for about 3 years but now he's back. Back into town. And back into Grace's life.

Grace was an okay character, until the end when she was faced with some decisions that made her go up a notch on my scale. Daniel didn't hold an attraction to me, maybe I'm finally getting out of the whole bad boy thing... I think not. I just didn't find myself into him. Grace's brother came out to me as being less than fair. He wanted Grace to be on his side, but he didn't even trust her enough to give her the whole story.

The plot was normal, until the ending where Despain pulled a twist on us. It was a nice one, though I think she could have gotten a little bit farther in the dark department. Not everything was tied up all nice and pretty, but it felt like it. Oh and I liked the whole 'True loves first kill' thing, it has a kind of dark irony that I just love.

Oh the ending was awesome! The action and the consequences, loved them. I think that if the story for some reason doesn't deliver it for you the ending will redeem the whole book.

All in all I liked it, and hope to see either more on this story or more from Bree Despain.

  • The Mark
    • Rated 3 stars

While short on pages 'The Mark' can be quite a ride.

Cassie has had the mark since she was little, but only recently did she know what it truly meant. People with the mark die on the same day it appears. With all this pressure and questions that seem to have no answer, Cassie escapes from her life to the little town where she was born. She is there looking for answers, but will she only find more questions?

When I started the book I didn't know what to expect. I basically picked it up because it was short. Which is something that I still don't know if it worked to its advantage or not.

The main character, Cassie, is a very likable girl. Though confused at parts, I found myself agreeing with her on various points trhough the novel. This is good. A likable character is something you want on your debut novel.

The plot was solid. I liked it. The author really makes you think, she puts you right into Cassies shoes. I often went back and forward on my opinions in the whole thing. It would be so awful if it really were me. Knwing the ones close to you are about to die? Should you or should you not help them? Is it fate that this should happen? Do you choose fate ot free will?

Romantically I am happy with the outcome. It isn't like other YA novels, were the girl falls in love with the guy and they live happily ever after This is also a sad part of the story, that there isn't a strong relationship that can help our girl on tough times. Oh and her family. I like Nan, but didn't like her aunt. I specially didn't like how she could be an aunt sometimes and sometimes she wasn't.

There were some holes in the story, things that could have been better in the outer and inner structure. Like something related to Cassie's 'age'. But I don't want to give it out. And well, when often the character referred to the past I found myself completely lost. I didn't know if we were on the past or present. To say confusing was a given.

I gave this book a 3.7 rating because even though confusing at times and with the holes, I thought the plot and the character have a future. I hope the writer continues with this story, because there is plenty of material to explore.

  • Beautiful Creatures
    • Rated 5 stars

As one of the most expected YA books of 2009, Beautiful Creatures has created high expectations. And after reading it, I gotta say, it excels.

Ethan Wate comes from a little town. Raised in a little town, and his greatest desire if to G-E-T O-U-T. He can't understand his father's desire to stay, or for in fact his mother's. When she was alive anyways. Since then his father is non existent. Besides this his life is completely normal until the dreams start. Or most likely the nightmares. He fights for his and some girl's life on this dream, but she always slips away. And the only thing he knows about this girl that she smells of Lemons and Rosemaryl, and that he loves her.

This book is wow. I felt like Kami and Margarate took YA by the Y and the A, completely turned it upside down and did a work of art while they were at it. By now I expect the female point of view, the mysterious bad boy, and some kind of supernatural excuse to keep them apart. Oh boy, not such thing with this one.

Of course there is a girl, a boy, and maybe a curse, but you get it with a spin that makes you love the story even more. First off the POV is a MALE's POV. That was shocking enough. I heard this book had some kind of romance in it, so a male POV in the story took me by surprise. It's completely refreshing.

And while there is certainly some romance in this book the authors managed to not make it the main point of the story, while making it the main point of the story. Ugh, and it's REAL. You can feel everything they are feeling; you understand why they are feeling it. It's not just hormones, you can call this love. They fight, they scream, but still they have a connection. Oh and a big plus, they don't say the L word as soon as in other YA novels. It is there, they know it, they just don't feel the need to BRAG about it.

Now the curse. The plot line was extremely interesting. They use a little bit of everything, magic (black and white), historical facts (real and well invented of course), secrets, mysteries, riddles... They pulled the same old rabbit out of the hat, but instead of a old normal white rabbit you get one that has all the colors of the rainbow.

All the characters added something to the story. Ethan is the believer, he never gives up. Lina is the girl who has gone through so much, she just can't help but be negative about her whole destiny. They balance each other out. Oh and the other characters, well if you like dark humor they were some sort of comic release, at least for me. Marco (Lina's uncle) had me laughing a number of times. Again, you have to have a weird sense of humor.

Kami and Margaret managed to turn something ordinary into something extraordinary. From old to new. From boring to I-have-spent-over-4-hours-on-this-book-till-I-finished-it. And I am not even kidding. You know how we sometimes over use the phrase 'keeps you at the edge of your seat'? Damn, I am going to try to invent a new phrase, but for now this is exactly what this book did for me. And I'm sure if you give it a try, it will work one way or the other for you too.

There are 5 short stories in this book. Some of them good and worth the read, other were just there to fill the gap. I prefer to read an entire book by Charlaine Harris than the short stories. But it did fill some stuff that was missing on the original Sookie books. Like for example when they told Sookie how her cousin died. I had problem with one story, the last one. I liked the story, till the end. The end I didn't like, and I can't believe she won't ever know. It kind of bothers me. But oh well, this is a good book to pass the time till the 10th book comes out.

    Please come out soon!

Last time we left Manhattan families were being created, girls dreams were becoming true, and men were going to war followed behind by mistresses in disguise. It all seem like a magnificent story of rich people being rich with love on the side. It still kind of is like this, but on this conclusion you will be presented with an ending that was probably not on your first thought for an ending, but that at the end seems the more fitting and the book is more amazing because of it.

(Oh goodness I was just watching the TV and Volvo (car) has made a commercial out of Twilight... *shivers*) Anyways... There is much character development in this installment, most of it has been by my favorite character, Diana. Only 17 but she seems much more mature than in the books before. She has let go of her faerie tales, and has started to accept reality as it is. While on the other corner we have Penelope, that one won't change much, she is still as hateful as ever. But by the end you get to glimpse a little of the character she is going to become in the future, if it's for good or bad, you decide.

Elizabeth, now her story was so suspenseful and interesting! One of my faves in this book for sure. At the first book she seemed a little dull, but after The Luxe she is a very look after character. Casandra really learns that not everything evolves around money. Thank god, she seemed like such a nice girl at the beginning, and deep inside she still is, she is just very ambitious. Finally, Henry. Oh our boy. The romance between him and Diana is as hot as ever, but some things will happen that will shock you to no end. But it is all for the best. Also one character that has made an impression on me has been Teddy (Henry's friend). He is such a good boy, I would have liked to see more of him, and I am happy Anna Godbersen made him appear more since Envy.

At last, the ending. This one made me tear up too, what is it with books lately!! Same thing happened with Temptations (though not for the same reason). As I said before very fitting and shocking at best. The start of the post says it all! Shocking revelations. Unexpected endings!

I gave this book a five star because as a fan of the series, this conclusion satisfied me a lot. The book is highly entertaining, and it has a good theme on it's core. Some might be disappointed, but I'm not one of those some. I am expecting a lot of other great things from Anna Godbersen, and I hope she delivers.

The House of Night sure knows how to bounce back from almost being defeated.

The series started great, and it got better till the fourth book, then it kind of slowed down on the great factor. But after this one I gotta say its getting better than ever. We start were we left off (as always). Zoey just sent the fallen immortal and Neferet very very far away, and is now dealing with whats left behind. But is not only Zoey who has problems, Stevie Ray has her share of troubles, even keeping secrets from her friends. Plus Zoey has her usual boy drama, which is getting more cleared up now (thank the goddess). Will it be Eric, Heath, Stark ooor Kalona?

Ugh the boy drama, I mean come on I understand two of them, maybe 3, but she seriously has to do something about this. Erik has changed a lot. At first he was the sweetest guy ever, and never gave signs of being possessive or anything, but now apparently he is the asshole. Which really saddens me, I really liked him. But with me out goes Erik and in goes Stark. I always felt a little sorry for Heath, maybe because he reminds me of someone I know...

One of the things I really liked about this book is the different POVs. For me, it was a really good change of the way of things. And I don't think I could have taken 336 pages of Zoey. I think this might be what saved the series from dying.

This was a very good book. My favorite of the bunch I may say. Zoey is growing up and trying to see what she is going to do with her life. Stevie Ray stopped being a background character since she became a red vampire, but in this one you'll love her (or hate her) even more. And Aprhodite, well, she has always been one of the faves.

The ending, oh goddess the ending. My eyes got misty. If I would have not been on Pre Calc I may have silently cried a little. So, so sad. She kills one of the main characters. Not going to tell you which one though. Read the book. Ugh and such a cliff hanger. I just hope the next book is the last, or pre to the last, this can't go on any longer.

  • The Van Alen Legacy
    • Rated 5 stars

"Great", "Fantastic", "Best one of the bunch". This are some of the comments I had heard about The Van Alen Legacy, and oh gosh I hate when rumors turn out to be wrong... SO I'm so glad the rumors hit right in the spot on this one! The Van Alen Legacy is the best Blue Blood book out of the entire series.

Since the tragic events in Rio Schuyler and Oliver have been on the run. Everybody is after them, no one believes them, and they have nothing to do but run away. While over at New York everybody is trying to act like nothing happened on the surface, but on the inside everything is chaos. Bonds are born, and broken. Blue Bloods come together and fall apart in this great new installment.

I am very surprised. As I anticipated this was a great book. I think I mentioned something about that this might be the best one yet when I posted the first chapter... Anyways! There are 3 main POV's in this book, Schuyler's, Bliss's and Mimi's. Girls book out you may say. And, interestingly enough myt favorite one was Mimi's (Schuyler being a close second). Mimi has grown. She seems less like a spoiled brat and more like a woman, even though the spoil brat still lurks inside.

And yes ladies, there is plenty of romance. This book would have to be the most exciting and sad book towards romance. There are some interesting things that happen on that department. Can't say much else, don't want to spoil it now do I?

This book answered a lot of questions, but it ended with a bunch more. This is a good book, read it, read it, read it.
