Can you re-invite me to the vegetarian group? I unjoined all my groups temporarily. Am presently reading CANCER WARD by the Russian writer Alexander Sol--------I'm drawing a blank-geez if only I could spell or remember in Russian!I wrote about the book CANCER WARD on the Better Than Starbucks (BTS) group site for Oct. reads -posted a fabulous quote from the book regarding the purposes of reading/writing literature. Will check out the author Hiassen. BTW-Have you heard of this movement?

I am happy to be your Shelfari friend. I read She's message below. "The Last Look Detailers" you gotta love them! My whole family is sensitive to medications-my brother went without any painkillers after a life threatening back operation. The doc thought he was crazy but my brother said "At least if I feel pain I know I am alive." Shockingly my brother did indeed survive the op., however his surgeon dropped dead 3 days later. I always want to do a background check on my docs to see if they are keeping up good health care practices for themselves..regular physicals and such. It would be easy to forget taking care of yourself when your job is taking care of others. I like a lot of books you are reading-esp. The Winter Of Our Disconnect. I'll be reading your review if you choose to write one. Hope you & your family are doing A.O.K.

Thanks for your witchy thoughts and everyone's good intentions and prayers, surgery was iminently(sp?) postponed (while on the table) - apparently some last look detailers found my liver enzymes and coags off to the degree that I may not have made it through....or actually made it to stay on this side as opposed to the other side....It seems the Rx given to me to control tumor growth has a nasty but rare side effect of creating gallstones. Lucky me, I often am the rare side-effect gal and I've been throwing stones for several days and one got stuck.
