Growing up, I couldn't understand how people could read books without pictures. I had a hard time absorbing that. What's the fun in reading when you don't see any pictures? tsk tsk!

So I started with Archie comics. My uncle had a big collection of Archie's, Casper, Hot Stuff and Richie Rich. They were easily available so that's what I read.

Then I'd see my friends in elementary school reading Sweet Valley Twins. I was curious. So I picked a copy. Then another.. and another. Eventually, I moved on to Sweet Valley High, University and the saga's. And that's where it all began. I moved on to R.L. Stine, Nancy Drew... etc.

Finally, I went big time. I picked up a copy of John Grisham's "The Client." My eyes were opened to the wonderful world of courtroom dramas as well as Sci-Fi when I got my hands on a Crichton book. Ahhhhhh.. it was like swimming in words. It was lovely.

I have to thank the makers of Archie comics and the people or Riverdale for helping me develop my interest in reading. « less
