  • Portentum: Africa Reborn

    Portentum: Africa Reborn

    by Brent Mason
    • Rated 4 stars

Portentum: Africa Reborn is a novel about three young boys that become blood brothers when they think their friend Paka is dieing. Paka gets better and his friends Mbitutu and Felix all play a game of football in a forbidden place with a few boys. This game will change the entire chain of events that lead their destiny. Mbitutu gets left behind in a horrible situation and the future is changed by this event. Years pass by and eventually a prophecy begins to be fulfilled. A chain event that was set in motion at a young age now stands before them. A witch doctor engulfing their lives in a hard darkness that must be over come, it is all in a matter of time. This story is really good and well written, the dialog and the grammar makes the story so vivid and real. At first the story starts off really slow but turns out wonderful. I give this story 4 stars.

  • Retishella and the Dolphins
    • Rated 5 stars

Retishella and the dolphins is about a mermaid that ends up in a unpredictable situation. She ends up having to go on a journey to dance with the dolphin king. It is very unique and interesting. I think kids of all ages and genders will love this story. I think the plot, setting and characters are very exceptional and only one of its kind. Author Linda Bond wrote this story well. I give this children’s novel a 5.

  • Summertime Friends

    Summertime Friends

    by John L. Leach IV
    • Rated 5 stars

Summertime Friends is a fictional novel but it seemed so real. I felt like I was one of the characters. It brought back so many childhood memories and it taught me a lot. Three young men and four young women journey into life, they face hardships and trials in their small town. They learn how to become optimistic and overcome. This story was breathtaking and full of many wonderful things. It also made me laugh and cry. It is so amazing how real it is. This is a must read for every teenager and adult alike. The author John L. Leach was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and moved to Pennsylvania. He is a youth director at Grace Fellowship Church. He speaks volumes to our youth today through this brilliantly written story. This is a book I could read over and over, time after time, I will never get tired of reading a story as heartfelt and touching as this one. Wow, sums it up.

    Rhyme, Rhythm and Reason

This book of poetry and anthology is perfectly written. It has such beautiful flow and it has so much style. It is one of the best poetry books I have read yet. It touches on very important aspects of life. Our Country, Our Soldiers, Our God, and it leaves you breathless. This poet could be a modern day Shakespeare. It will make your soul soar upon the wings of an eagle, and feeds your heart with love. It is like being touched by the hand of God when I read each one of them. Some of my favorites where “Take it to the Cross”, “Hope”, “Life’s Long Journey”, “The Man of Many Faces”, “The Native American”, “Faith Obscured”, “The American Soldier” and “Confessions of Faith”. I named so many favorites and did not get them all. This whole entire book is my favorite. It is wonderful and full of Love it is a must read and a beautiful collection for the poetry lover.
