I used to read a lot of gossip magazines. I'd call them my 'smut' mags, and my husband used to hate it because of the content, because I can read one in less than an hour, and because I spent waaaay too much money on them.     I am half-way thru "echo"... i'm reading as fast as i can!! LOL i just wish i didn't have to work so i could just read alll day :D my mom is also anxious for me to finish so she can talk about it... should be done this wkd i think.

    COUSIN! I'm so excited about shelfari...even though it took me a year to get on after your initial invitation. So, had to put HP on hold in order to read A&D during spring break. (I love how I can assume you understand the initials.) I'm on 429 on 713 pages...getting there. Hoping to finish before Monday...on top of all this lesson planning and lecture creating I have to do. BUT once school starts I'm going to desperately try to keep up with my reading....with the help of YOU and SHELFARI. Sorry for the responsibility and pressure. Don't get me wrong...love the textbook reading, but in need of good narrative every now and then. How did Travis' interview go? Love you!

    Dear Tabby: I am an author from Massachusetts. My debut novel HUNTING THE KING was published in April. If you enjoy reading a good thriller like DA VINCI CODE, you might like HUNTING. The novel revolves around a charismatic young woman named Molly O’Dwyer. Molly was five years old when she witnessed her mother die in a fire. She never knew her father. After her mother’s death, she was raised on the campus of a Jesuit college. Now an archaeologist, she has been recruited to participate on a dig in war torn Iraq. As a scientist she is compelled to discover whatever or whoever is buried under the sands of ancient Babylon. As an observant Catholic, she is scared that whatever she finds will have devastating consequences for her faith. There is a wonderful YouTube book trailer well worth watching if you have the chance.     I aM the worst shelfari friend ever! Im never on, my book lists are always super out dated, i never leave comments, I hardly ever rate the books i read, so blah! Im going to get the 3rd twilight book soon, Im just going to bite the silver bullet (te-he) and go get it from the store, even tho my sister has the entire sierres, has read them a thousand times, but cant let me borrow one for a week because she is selfish. Whatever... Laters

    i love anne rice, but i know she's hard for some people to read at first. "interview" is kinda dry & hard to get into, but keep going. my favorite of her vamp books is "queen of the damned" where it all comes together. and if you saw that horrible movie version of interview, please do not picture a blonde tom cruise as lestat. i personally have sworn off his movies because they are sooo awful! :) my favorite of her books is probably "the witching hour" about the mayfair witches. talk about a page turner!! but some sorrowful news - she has decided not to write any of the supernatural books anymore. catholic religious books only. :( waaaahhh!

    i liked twilight too. i did wish that it was a little older than 17-year-olds, but it was a great escape. my mom & i are both excited to see the movie. i can't believe i hadn't heard of twilight until this summer! i'm just glad i was able to zip thru all 4 books without stopping. i would have been *really* ticked off if i had to wait for the next book! lol it's hard enough waiting for the next outlander book!!!

    hi tabby! thanks for the add. i'm on here quite a bit, too. i'm currently reading stephen king "duma key" and then i'm reading "brisingr" from the eragon dragon series. i love all kinds of books, so my shelf is all over the place :) i'm always looking for the next read to fill the gaps when diana gabaldon doesn't have a book out. she's spoiled me for other writers tho - i expect a LOT from the characters & writing style. i absolutely *hate* when i'm reading a book and think to myself, "well, I could write better than this!!" LOL
