“I thought this play could not possibly live up to the hype, but I was mistaken ; it is perfection. At one point Rothko yells at Ken, "I AM HERE TO STOP YOUR HEART, YOU UNDERSTAND THAT?!" - a statement that for me also encapsulates the entire work. The play does reach out and stop your heart, and then restarts it, changed, as if you have been unwittingly transformed during your time within the covers (or curtains) into new creature with fantastic new perceptions.”
