Susie, bring your Shelfari password to Outerbanks so we can change your picture. You are not a stick figure. I just read my first Stephen King book, Lisey's Story. I had been reading some magazine articles by him and I just love the way he writes, but I have never been able to get through (or even started on) his books because I don't do scary. I really liked it. Some one else told me that I would probably like his book, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. I'm going to try it soon.

Susie, no real rush on reading All The Pretty Horses, Vik was planning to listen to it on cd and one of the cd's messed up before she left to go to CO, so she won't be finishing it until she gets back from CO. I put the next book in the trilogy on our shelf so that we will all still be reading sort of the same book and that will give you and Vik time to catch up. Happy 4th!! Hope you are doing something fun. We are just down here hoping that we don't all float away. It has been a deluge and rain is in the forecast for today.
Susie, The Group is starting All the Pretty Horses. Just jump in when you are reading one of the books. We just kind of sporadically post our thoughts. No formal discussion or anything like that. Hope all is well.

now that you have books....update your picture. When I see the current one, I get confused as to which one of my friends Susie you are...the current icon looks just like this other friend Susie that I have.
Here's my book suggestion: "Paris to the Moon". It's a bio of a family who leaves NYC in 1995 and moves to Paris. I also just picked up "A Year of Magical Thinking" by Joan Didion. I'm open to other suggestions!

I'm sitting on my deck, with a bottle of wine, and candles glowing. Alison just left to meet up with some of her cousins. We sat out here and ate cheese and drank wine, but didn't talk about books...what a shame!
