Since your focus is on the royalty, you probably don't have anything on this, but I'm currently looking for info on banking and investments; where money (coins) were kept, how they were deposited with a bank, how people invested in things like canals, how the Exchange operated. If you know of any sources, I'd appreciate a heads-up!

Thanks for the recommendations. I have the Carolly Erickson book but am always actively looking to acquire more memoirs. Now, if I just had the time to read them all! I do belong to Beau Monde, though I mostly lurk. It's such a fun and informative group. Short of selling my house and moving into town, I don't have many options for faster computer service until I can persuade the phone co into doing dsl...alas. It's become a huge stumbling block to be stuck on dial-up. But since a move isn't in the future, I'll just have to be patient. Not one of my strong points!

Wow, I love your bookshelf! When I get to a faster computer (I live in the boonies and the phone company refuses to give us dsl) I'll check out your myspace page. Since I write English Regency, do you have any memoirs/bios that you particularly like for that period? Thanks!

Thank you so much- I'm really intrested in Jane Austen, so I'll get this book. I'm nervous about the movie...We'll see how accurate it turns out.
