I'm just entering into part 3 where Judy has just been murdered.

So far though I couldn't agree more, it has been a major disappointment. I was honestly looking forward to reading this when I picked it up at a little book shop, but for the man who brought us Stepford Wives and the original Rosemary this so far seems to be a very deliberate cash in on a book people must have been begging him for and he has complied with a very obvious and basic story.

    Dear Susan,
I see you have a new cat picture! Did you know that Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon Him) loved cats? Once, a cat was sleeping in his lap, and it was time for prayers. He cut off part of His robe, so as not to disturb the cat.
    Regards.

    Hi!

The Minneapolis-St.Paul-Minnesota Group recently hit 100 members, so we're kicking off a 100-Member Celebration! Details are available on the group site. Hint: It involves a drawing for some gift certificates, and participation is required in order to be eligible for the drawing :-) Come celebrate with us!

Also, we've announced that our summer group read will be Leif Enger's newest book: So Brave, Young and Handsome. I'm reading this book right now and will have the discussion thread up by next week. The thread will be available for discussion this entire summer.

Just chanced on this site and your profile - I have a friend in Bethesda - also a writer and wonder if you might know her from your Writers' Group - here name is Monica - anyway enjoyed seeing some of your books as some are favorites of mine. I am down to just one kitty - Emily whom we affectionally sometimes call "Jaws" - we have buried 18 year old Sylvia last fall and 20 year old Tommie 3 years past January.

Chukchi hasn't been around since July, 1994 but, when she was around, she would check out any cup. Once upon a time, during a blizzard, a friend came up from the lower level apt to watch some TV and brought a cup of hot cocoa. Chukchi immediately went for it and when Sue attempted to reclaim her cup, Chuk gave her a mighty wallop.

HA! I love that kitty picture. My girl, Chukchi, was always putting her head in cups like that but I never had such an appropriate cup.

Susan, Glad to hear you are enjoying the snow rather than suffering from the storms. It has been pretty cold here, but most of the snow has melted away. We are now getting only occasional snow flurries that only turn the laws white until the sun comes out. With all the snow we got this year, I noticed the water level in the pond in back of the house is up; and that is definately a good thing.
