Hello sunshine! It actually started when my mother read it and told me a lil about whats happening in the first book. When she was done with it, she gave it to me to read. It was great. There arent too many books that can keep me up all night spellbound and this was one of those books that did.

I see you're willing to take a Doris Lessing to a deserted island. So would I. I've read the "Golden Notebook" and it's a great book. I like her book "Love, Again" only marginally better. It's great to see her winning the Nobel for literature, isn't it? I've just finished reading another one of her books "Memoirs of a Survivor" - about a elderly woman who sees teh world as we know it crumble around her as civilization goes on a reverse gear. It's fabulous. Give it a try if you can lay your hands on a copy.
