“Unexpected surprise says it well. If you like a book with new ideas -- here's a good one!”
“This was good reading. The author's style seemed dated for a book published in 1970 but in a way it was well suited to the...”

Oh, I so wish this was my garden! I actually shot this at a place called Wave Hill , here in that city, where I go to get out of the rat race. If you want to know more about the place go to:www.wavehill.org
Thank you Summersnow! I took this shot in August. Shots like these actually calm me down quite a bit because I have to wait so long for good positioning.
Hey summer, Sorry for my lag in response. The phd has kept me pretty busy. I recommend "Get Your Own Damn Beer, I'm Watching the Game!: A Woman's Guide to Loving Pro Football," by Holly Robinson Peete. I bought it for my fiancee and she liked it. Plus, it is has a narrative aspect to it which I find more engaging than straight forward "Football for Dummies" type books. Plus, Holly Robinson was on 21 Jump Street. Can't go wrong there. However, if you are looking for a more advanced coaching style tactics book you can't go wrong with Allen Trimble's book on coaching high school football, or any of the American Football Coaches Association guides. They are usually really good and explain how offenses and defenses strategize in different situations. Hope this helps.
Maybe I'll try This Much I Know is True -- I see my local library has several copies -- I have a hard time choosing fiction so I always appreciate a suggestion.I do have a few bear stories although in truth, as fascinated as I am with bears, I try to avoid interactions -- bears are scary. When I'm out in the woods I go along singing to let the other critters know I'm there. Bears don't like surprises, and an angry bear is a terrible thing to see!
SummersonwI have just finished Wally Lamb, This Much I Know Is True. I loved it. You will find my review on my shelves. I am in my light summer reading. I have just started an Iris Johanson novel. Lots of adventure. By the way, you have bear stories?????
Dear SummersnowI just wanted to write and tell you I love your avatar and you have such a beautiful name.Blessings Khabira
Hi Summersnow: We had a project up and running on the Photography Enthusiasts site. Come join us!

Mises and Austrian Economics: A Personal View3. Freedom Under Siege4. Gold, Peace, and Prosperity5. Case for Gold, TheAll available at: http://mises.org/literature.aspx?action=search&q=Ron%20Paul
Dear Summersnow,I found your name on another Ron Paul group and I'd like to invite you to my group, the "Ron Paul Reading List" at http://www.shelfari.com/groups/24536/aboutApart from discussing Ron Paul and his latest book, I'm trying to showcase other books which Dr. Paul references and the books those reference and so on. This way we show that Dr. Paul's ideas didn't just spring out overnight and that there is a logical progression of ideas stretching way back into history.I hope to get more people in... and maybe have them participate. (Please post stuff!) It's like prodding mice sometimes.

Hi Summersnow:We're hoping to breath some life into the Photography Enthusiasts group. There are some good ideas about how we can proceed, but we need more people. Please log on and let us know what you think. Thanks in advance!
Wee away for a while...and it was cold when we left. It's gorgeous today and I think we may have made the turn!
Though I live in a city with numerous Olmstead parks, I got particularly interested after reading The Devil and the White City. As a result, I got A Clearing in the Distance by Witold Rybczynski to further my knowledge of him. It was a New York Times notable book of the year. It paled in comparison after "Devil", but is a good resource book, I think.
I hope you will take the time to view my YouTube book trailer at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-t0K34iU6g. I am doing some research about potential characters to play the lead role in the upcoming movie. Hope you can help me out. As Ralph Eggleston Director/Production Designer of Pixar Animation Studios said,"I LOVED the book! It's a missing, ENDLESSLY fascinating link to the history of Hollywood. Thank you for researching and writing it!! I hope it's been widely well received, as it deserves to be." Best wishes. Gaelyn
In the early nineties I accompanied a group (from Winnipeg, central Canada) to the Orkney Islands to roam through the old Hudsons Bay Company warehouses and meet local descendants of some of the original HBC men. I was fascinated that some of the Canadian group members were also descendants of HBC men and their "country wives". When I came across "Epic Wanderer" shortly after I moved to British Columbia it seemed to be a book which would cover the history of both the areas in which I had lived. It sat on my shelf for a couple of years but has re-awakened my interest in early Canadian history and exploration. The maps were an added benefit as I am a bit of a map freak!
Hi there! I have almost finished "Epic Wanderer" and see that you are the only other Shelfarian who has it. I agree totally with your review - my reading has been slowed by getting out maps to try and trace his routes in detail.
You're so luckyd! I live in Florida and the trolls don't like it much here because the sun shines all the time. That and it's too hot!
Hey Summersnow! I highly recommend The Giver by Lois Lowry :)
I've read the latest in the series. If JK decides to write another one, I guess it will be about Harry's kids, since she ended with them heading off to Hogwarts.
Hey there! It looks like you and I share a love of troll tales!
