It is a joy to be able to sit down at my laptop and write. I am an author by choice. I have several writing projects going at one time. There is something about making words visible in front of my face that opens my soul to new possibilities. I sell my books on Kindle. The first serious piece I wrote is called Beach Angel. After writing this book, I carried it with me to all of my writing classes. Each time it was edited, it got better. It was in my first writing class at Fullerton Community College that I was told to write about someone I knew--someone interesting. Most of my family was quiet and calm, as they sat around in the evening, either reading or writing. My youngest son was different. He was always on the go. He played sports, was in drama and hung around with some wild kids. His life became the basis of my book. Yet, it is entirely fiction. Using my imagination, I created a fun kid and told his story.
My journey had begun.
Next, I chose a subject from ancient history to write about. Being a student of the Bible, I chose chapter six in the Book of Genesis, which gave the reason for the Great Flood of Noah and his ark. The chapter tells of falling angels and huge giants, called Nephilim. My Glorious Companions Series tells of a young girl who fell in love with a deceitful fallen angel. Her story goes many directions. Starting with Angel Heart and Kindred Spirits. But then I began to think about her family, so I wrote two more books. They are Royal Family and Awaken the Passion. You will find in this series the life of royalty 5000 years ago.
I am a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. I am not quite sure what I would do with my time if I did not continue to write. Being a Christian, I also write Bible Studies under the name of Verna Hargrove. I must walk now to keep healthy. And can you believe, I eat better. My delicious desserts must go and be replaced with Greek Yogurt. Fortunately, it tastes good.
I must also tell you that I love to teach children's Bible classes, especially to poor children.
