I like your library. My shelves are full as well & so I'm very deliberate when I buy "real" books. I try to stick to the classics that might be missing on my shelves. (Just today, after seeing & loving the film, I realized that my copy of The Gret Gatsby is gone!) I had to buy the hardcover edition of Gone Girl as my readers' group assigned it and I couldn't get it from the library in time. I disliked the book so much that as soon as we were done with the discussion, I sold it!
3,000 books! OMG, Sue, and I thought my Kindle was full! What's your favorite genre or do you like to keep it quite eclectic?
Hi Sue! I'm also from Larnaca!! :) i just started following you, i like your shelves! ;)
I am an Author & new to Shelfari. It looks like you are reading some interesting books. Check out my profile if you get a chance. My new political thriller may be of interest to you. Thanks.
You have to use the "see at Amazon" for the specific edition involved. Of course I haven't looked today - perhaps they have already corrected it!! Yes - The Shelfari catalog is based on Amazon.com - not Amazon.uk.com so that does make a difference.
I'll check it out later after the time-of-day restriction has expired for processing combination requests. I have to keep on that for the moment.
Thanks,
BC
Thanks for the information. If that is the case, then Amazon will have to alter the title instead of the cover. I'm certain they will make the correct decision. As it stands, the two do not match and there is nothing Shelfari can do to change edition-level information.
I'll let you know when Amazon gets back to me.
Thanks again,
BC
Greetings,
I'm rejecting this title change request:
Sue F requested a change to the title of The House Swap. Amanda Brookfield 8 days ago. (see cover)
Requested Title:
Before I knew you
Current Title:
The House Swap. Amanda Brookfield
Edition Titles:
The House Swap. Amanda Brookfield
The title is correct. The cover is incorrect. I've sent a change request to Amazon to have them correct this problem.
Thanks,
BC

I'm working on your request to combine editions of "Savannah Purchase" by Jane Aiken Hodge. I had to separate one of the editions because it included two other titles. Thank you.
Hi sue
for many years i too enjoyed reading books.I also spent many hours teaching my children to read. now reading is no longer an option for me but i still take great pleasure in books and so listen to audiobooks.
hello sue
didn't know you listened to books on cassette until it came on my "what are your friends reading" bit.
i used to listento books on cassette but went to cds when the tapes got stuck in the machine and i was frightened they would become unplayable. then i found i couldn't buy personal cassette players they appeared to have stopped manufacturing them.
i have read some of the james herriot books and enjoyed them but that was a long time ago. hope you enjoy them.
best wishes
karen.
hello sue
i seem to be spending more time online too. mind you when the book i'm listening to isn't as good as i think it should be or i'm struggling with it i use the computer as a bit of a dristraction which in turn makes the book last longer. i spend the time looking for more books even though i have a big to be read pile.
thank you for your note
best wishes
karen.
hello sue
haven't heard from you for a long time so wondered how the 100 book challenge was going. i joined the 50 book challenge in january and am currently in the 40's so not long now before i've finished. i put reviews on but don't know whether to continue after the challenge or just post a list.
hope you are well.
best wishes
karen.
Well you live in a nice part of the World, anyway.
Regards, Michael
Hello Sue. Today I bought a copy of SAILING JUST FOR FUN: HIGH ADVENTURE ON A SMALL BUDGET. I was adding it to My Shelf and noticed that you were one of the few readers with it listed. Do you sail out in Cyprus? I guess at the right time of the year, the weather and sea conditions would be lovely!
Regards, Michael
Hi Sue,
Thanks for your friendship on Shelfari!
From a look at your shelf I see we share an interest in several authors, especially my favorite of all time, Bill Bryson. In fact his style has heavily influenced my own, if you can image how a romance by Bill Bryson would sound (ha ha).
What I'm looking for are kind readers who are willing to take a chance on a new author and who would also be willing to provide feedback, and in cases where they actually enjoy my story, a kind review in important places like Shelfari (and especially in the comments section of my website).
If this sounds like you, and you are even the tiniest bit curious, please visit my website (www.MayneAttraction.com) and check out the excerpts posted there to get a feel for the story, and whether you'd like to read the book, of which I will provide a complimentary copy.
Thanks so much and I look forward to hearing from you!

hello sue.
looked through 1000 of the books on your shelf. brought back memories of when i was a child. enid blyton mainly. bought the secret seven for my daughter. then late in my teens went onto agatha christie, arthur conan doyles, dick francis and so forth. haven't read any of the village series by rebecca shaw but have really enjoyed the country series about a vets pratice. i stayed clear of romantic fiction for years but have recently discovered some good books about couples who are already married - the ballroom class, a spring affair and the baby group.
thank you for accepting me as your friend.
i have read some of terry pratchetts books but its some time since so they are not on my shelf.
i have joined some groups and am currently doing the 50 book challenge, didn't think i could get anywhere near 100 books in a year. how are you doing with your challenge?
I know this is a bit late, but hi there! I'm just dropping by to welcome you to The 100+ Book Challenge. The idea of the group is pretty much self explanatory - try to read 100 or more books in a one year period. If you do have any questions, please feel free to send a message to me or Tenia. In the meantime, good luck reaching your goal!
