Strange world. I can't get you direct on twit. You need to risk following me for that. And if the admin. can't get me here then that is weird. Gremlins lurk.
I must have set up something funny. I'm very average at the tech. stuff. Saw your recent utube. Very competent. Hope it draws in some sales.

Wonder if that other user has "friends" only allowed for posting notes?

Oh well - at least we know something works!

Ok - delete the duplicate. My ISP is VERY slow today and, in my impatience, I hit "submit" twice.

I read the Kindle addition of Project ULF and really enjoyed it. I don't know anything at all about Silver Leaf Books, but I hope they are good at the publicity angle. If book sales reflected quality then you should be making a living out of writing, perhaps you are, as you can tell I haven't a clue. The book I have just read reminded me very much of Alister Maclean's adventure novels, even though he never as far as I remember wrote Science Fiction. He was very good at writing plot lines that kept you wondering which of three or four of the principle characters out of a dozen or so were not what they seemed. Not unlike Par, Kit, Keele et al. He was possible the biggest selling author in the UK for a time in the 60's and 70's. I hope you don't object to the comparison, as I am aware that he would hardly grab the attention of many Science Fiction fanatics. Some great films were made from his books, which I am sure just about everyone over thirty or so has seen.

    Hay Stuart,

Glad to hear about book 3 coming out. I'm sure it will be as good as the 1st two. Been busy with family stuff, so haven't been on much lately. Hope all is good with you.

    Hi Stuart!

No, I didn't even know that there was an Amanda Hocking phenomenon.
I guess I need to catch up on stuff huh? :D

I'm trying to stop myself from getting new books until I've had time to whittle down my To Be Read pile.
It's at 44 books and counting.
(Yes, your book is among the many excellent books in that pile.)

    How are you doing?

I've been recommending your site to several people :)
Mind you, I've also been recommending the Yahoo site to several people too (if they do children's literature).
I'll remind her about your group.
I don't think she's one of the ones that belong to Shelfari ... yet.
:D I'll expound the virtues of Shelfari being a place for readers and how that may help as a marketing strategy.
You know better than I do as to whether being on Shelfari helps an iota.

Yes, I did find your book :)
According to the E-mails, it was the first one sent out and may actually even be delivered today.
I'm getting everything sent to my office.
I've learned my lesson about books left on my (shallow) front porch in Houston's not infrequent driving rains.

I'll have to see what type of reading mood I'm in.
Some books that land on my "need to read" or "in midst of reading" piles get read immediately and some stay there a while.
I wait for the reading mood to strike me.
One of Terry Pratchett's books has been there for ages.
Other books were read upon arrival.

"House of Leaves" is a weird one.
I'll never finish it although I'm pretty close to the end of the book.
After reading that far, my mind is absolutely convinced that finishing that book would be detrimental to my health.
I guess it's a compliment to the author in some fashion.
    He got to my subconscious.
I'm not arguing with my subconscious.
    It's not worth it :D

    Hi Stuart :)

There's someone on the Yahoo Children's Writers and Illustrators group that's looking for help. Would it be okay to post her note on your group? This is what she said on the Yahoo group:

    Hi,

This is such a great and varied group. I wonder if I can ask for
some help. My YA novel STACY'S SONG was published on November 5th
by L&L Dreamspell. It is now listed on B&N online, Amazon and others
as both a print and e-book. I have some very nice reviews, three to be
exact, but none of the big review publications responded to the ARCs.
Do you have any suggestions for online reviewers to contact that have
some influence? All input appreciated. You can contact me privately if
    you prefer.

Here is what I have so far:
    Review
—"This is a wonderful young adult novel! Full of honest emotion, problems,
conflict and a cast of fascinating characters, STACY'S SONG is a heartwarming
story of a girl growing up and learning how to make thoughtful decisions that
will affect her life today and in the future." —Alice Duncan, award-winning
    author

—"Young readers will embrace Stacy. Not only must she deal with her father,
who does not like the changes in her life, especially Michael and the band, but
the peer pressure from her friends.
STACY'S SONG is a well written story about those awkward teen years, when the
ugly duckling turns into a swan, and the rocky roads that teenagers traverse.
This is an enjoyable, fun read, and I recommend it for young adults."
—Deborah C Jackson – Romance Reviews Today

—"This is an entertaining young adult tale starring a likable high school age
girl who goes from being the outside freak to the in-crowd. Stacy is stupendous
lead as she struggles with two boys; one is charming while the other is
demanding. Who will she choose particularly since her dad has already selected
who he wants kicked to the curb." —Harriet Klausner

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Okay ... I give. Where do I find your second book again? I just got my Amazon gift card from another author's contest. It would be silly for me to buy her book since I already have it. That is the reason why I went online to speak to her after all, not for the contest ... although the contest was very nice ... especially since I actually got the prize! LOL!

Hello Stuart, It appears you have been busy writing!!-)) I have been away and tonight I had the need to be back...Among people who love to read and love to share what they are reading. I am in the process of writing a book...Guess I needed a break from it for an hour or so. I has been pick-up (option) for a feature film. It truly is the most difficult task and yet so very exciting to think someone, somewhere may one day read my words. I hope all is well and you are enjoying this lovely Autumn. Best, Maureen

[grin] I just realized I misspelled my own name in my previous note to you. Sad.

You are now definitely an established writer. Doesn't it feel great?

How's the writer's group going? Once I get my schedule back in place, I'm going to bug everyone there more often again.

What's been keeping you so busy on the non-writing fronts? Your other job? Being the daddy job? :)
