She's definitely interested in reading more of his books :)
She also has a much broader reading base than I do ... and is much less chicken.

Just FYI: My daughter just finished a book that she is totally raving about and has earned a spot in her "favorites" shelf. It shares shelf space with Alice in Wonderland, Of Mice and Men, A Hundred Years of Soltitude, and Pride and Prejudice. The name of the book is The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly.

wanted to add my 2 cents to the paperbackswap.com idea. There is also bookmooch and frugalreader.com. You might want to check out all three sites beofre deciding vecause each site has it's own advatages and disadvantages. Paperbackswap moves books faster but you only get 1 credit for a hardback book while frugalreader.com gives you 2. I have been a member of both sites and I did a lot of trading...never had a bad deal. people were basically honest although a couple people were slow in their shipping.

Thanks. You can also see a short he shot in a 7 day film festival in New Mexico. It's on Spike. Crazy Like the Taz. He was one of ten contestants picked from a few thousand entries. He was given everything he needed to shoot and edit his 10 page short in 6 days to be ready to screen it on the 7th. It was a fun project, inspired by all the Taz gear he encountered during his days working at a fast food place.

The Last Late Night, written and directed by my son (his first effort), was a dramatic comedy. With no stars, we got no distribution, in spite of some nice festival awards. This next one is also a dramatic comedy, but it's a far bigger idea. We're still developing the script, but this will not be a little festival indie. We have done that.

    Hi Stuart,

My non-factual interest tend to be very eclectic, but books on disease really do fascinate me - don't know if it's because I work in a hospital. Thanks for letting me know - I'll have to see if I can get hold of a copy.

Hope the research is going well.

    Hi,

May I invite you to check out the “April Read Discussion” in Vistas of Kentucky Readers and Authors’ group. My “The Bluegrass Dream” is featured. It is a historical novel about the early settlers coming over the Alleghenies into the wilderness of Kentucky.

Hi Stuart, How are you getting on with the book about deadly diseases? A few years ago I read a fascinating one about the 'flu epidemic of 1918, but be blowed if I can recall the title. Let me know if it's any good - I find tracking things like this interesting - almost a detective story.

Hi Stuart, Pleased to see a Desmond Bagley up there. Sadly neglected these days. A Swedish friend knew him well. You might like my psychic spy thrillers, since they're regarded as fantasy by mainstream publishers - The Prague Manuscript and soon to be published The Tehran Transmission... or not.
I too have enjoyed the Connolly Charlie Parker books...
    Best wishes, Nik Morton

    Hi Stuart,

Thanks for accepting the friendship. Yes, I love the area, a few minutes drive and you are in the Peak District although not so sunny today, unfortunately!

I've read a lot of John Connolly's work, and enjoyed The Reapers, and learning more about what made Louis become the man he is, but didn't feel it was as dark as his other Charlie Parker books - which I think is what I enjoy best about his work. I find he writes well, and draws you in as the story progresses. I shall have to wait for the paperback, but of The Lovers, but look forward to it.

Hope life's being good to you, and speak with you again.
