In Ireland the inevitable never happens and the unexpected constantly occurs.
-- Sir John Pentland Mahaffy

I'm a high school Junior, and proud to be a WJHS Wildcat. I love to read, but it would be a lie to say I always have. I only came to my senses about six years ago, but I've barely gone a day without reading since...more »

Your welcome, and I'm glad your moms read the book and says its okay for you to read. Its okay that you haven't been very active at the group. I haven't either. I think that we've all been kind of busy, and I've been reading alot of adult books that I discuss in another group. So... I guess its just kinda quiet right now.

I just picked up a book for you today. Its an adult book, but I read it pretty recently and looking at your shelf I'm sure it will be fine. I'll let it be a surprise so I won't tell you what it is, but I hope you like it as much as I did! I'll get it packaged and sent out tomorrow, hopefully.

Fantasy, sci-fi, paranormal and paranormal romances are my favorite genres to read. I saw the movie, Practical Magic. The Sun Witch, the first book in a witch series, is on my way to my house. I get a lot of books through paperbackswap.com Recently I've been on a fae kick and ♥ reading anything to do with the fae. KM Monings Fever series is great!

I really like your profile. I used to volunteer at the humane society and I go there or to the animal shelter to get my pets. What are your favorite topics to read about?

Yeah, I love the mountains and the beach, but I haven't seen all of the state.

King Arthur books are my favorite! I'm reading The Once and Future King right now and its a fantasy about king Arthur. I haven't gotten far yet but its pretty hilarious. The Holocaust is interesting also. I'll have to check my shelf and see if I have any holocaust books.

I see. NC is a beautiful state. But there are WAY too many bugs! I recently checked into going out there to visit my BFF and I would fly into Raleigh. Unfortunetly we just don't have the money, so maybe next year. I'll have a new baby then though, so not sure.
And I agree with you about those authors. I'm not a fan of Nicholas Sparks or Danielle Steele, although I've read some of both. Alot of my real life friends like them and I've given in and tried some. I actually read some Danielle Steele when I was younger, but none recently. Do you like historical fiction? Some of my favorite books are historical fiction or time travel with historical fiction.

Yeah, I can understand why she doesn't want you to read V.C. Andrews. By what I've seen of what you read they may not be your type anyway. And they are NOT happy books! Its been years since I read them, but they are very dark and some are disturbing. I may have to read Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I haven't really had the urge to do so, it just sits on my shelf. But I'm sure one day it'll be the perfect book to read at that moment.
My BFF lives in Wilmington. I could look on a map and see exactly where your town is, but that would require me to get up and pull out the map, so I'll just ask- are you close to Wilmington? You say its Ridiculously overpopulated so I thought Wilmington could be close!

I got your address and I looked at your wish list. If nothing else it gives me an idea. I have Demon in My View from the library right now. I haven't read it yet though. I might be visiting the used bookstore soon or Goodwill and they have tons of good books. The last winner was younger so it had to be YA but your older and probably read alot of adult books and that actually makes it alot easier! I'm just curious, do you read V.C Andrews books? Or does your mom say 'no' to that? My mom had never read them and so she didn't know what I was reading, but she was my favorite author in high school. Also have you read The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants? I haven't read it yet, but have it sitting on my shelf. I liked the movie though.

Oh! Yeah, I know your mom. You can send it as a private note to the admins at the group, or you can send it to me as a private note. The other admins might send you something, but I'm not sure yet. We haven't figured out this months gift. You read older books then the ones I have already, so I'll have to look through my shelf. I'll have to look through yours also to see what you like. If you want you could put the books you want on your wishlist and I can see if I have any of them or if I see them somewhere. I'm always worried about sending a book that the person wouldn't like or may already have.

I just bought The Host, but I have three other books to read before I can read it - it has to wait it's turn as my husband tells me. I hope it is as great as the other books of hers that I have read - I can't wait!!

Bel Canto by Ann Patchett was a wonderful book, I enjoyed that so much more than I thought that I would. The cover really didn't tell you much about the book, but WOW! Also, The Good Guy by Dean Koontz was good too. What about you?? Do you have big plans for your summer reading
