    Hi Elizabeth,
You're welcome and good luck with the test! I own The Historian but haven't read it yet. It's in that very large TBR pile! : )

I DO! and I'm very torn about how I feel about Lord John, We'll have to talk more about him when you finish Voyager. Gabaldon uses him in a series all his own after this as well.

Yes I have wondered about those things. I love voyager. Don't you feel like Claire and Jamie are your own very interesting friends?

Very interesting insights, Belle. It was so long ago that I read Outlander, that I don't recall Mrs. Graham's predicting the interesting plot to come. What other literary devices have you noticed?

    Hi Lizzie--
I am finally getting a chance to check out shelfari. I bought one of those Amazon Kindles so I can take lots of books to Europe with me. I'm going to read Pillars of the Earth. Your recommendation is great!

Hi, I saw your review/comments on "Pillars of the Earth," and thought I'd recommend some other really terrific historical fiction. Consider reading Sally Gunning's "The Widow's War," and "Bound." I also love Owen Parry, who writes about the American Civil War period. Robert Jordan's (Reagan O'Neal) Fallon series is pretty good (American Revolution era).

And if you're willing to experiment with non-fiction that reads like fiction, try Barbara Hambly's "The Emancipator's Wife."

Hi! I've just joined and so far only joined the History Fiction group. I see you enjoy Philippa Gregory. I've yet to read my first Gregory book, which one would you recommend that I start with? My favourite recommendation so far is The Virgin Blue by Tracy Chevalier (or any by her!)
