Books are the world. The real one, or an imagined one. Up to you to choose... Books are freedom, the freedom to be elswhere for some time. Wether it be a far away foreign country, the mind of a murderer or a passionate love between people. You have it all, right there, in your hands.

Thank you, that sounds interesting. I'll look for it.

Is India / Asia top on your list of book themes, or is it by chance that you've read many about India or by Indians?

I note that you've read Elephanta Suite. What did you think of that?
I liked the way Theroux portrayed the American couple. The other two westerners in India and their experience appealed to me less, but it was a good read.

Hi StevenD, actually I was dislexic so I started reading at a later stage. My dad bought me lots of abridged versions of the classics when i was 8 and that's when i really started to like reading. I've read a lot of abridged classics, and now I'm reading them as unabridged books.
I have only been to Finland when i was 7, but i'd like to tour Europe some time.
nice to meet ya! check my blog: http://zawan.wordpress.com

So, the Manga style books are by a Japanese author? I would be very interested in seeing one, to compare with depiction of the life of Buddha in literature that you get in Sri Lanka on the Buddha.

The reason I wanted to read Sutcliffe was because it was based on India. Are the others also?

    Hello Steven.
I agree with you about books being a form of freedom, although that applies once you've obtained basic freedom (to survive, to live).

Why "of course" when it comes to Potter and Brown? I'm ashamed to say I haven't read it and I will once I get through my to read list (which never ends!)

I find it difficult to say what my best book is: the books change according to dfifferent periods in my life. Some are: "Mr. Nicholas" -Thomas Hinde, "Alchemy of Desire" Tejpal, "Family MAtters"-Mistry, "Maps for Lost lovers" -Aslam, "Cakes and Ale" Maugham, etc.

I see that you've read a lot of Sutcliffe. I was a bit disappointed with "Are you experienced". Also, what are the series of books on Buddha that you've read?

    Hi StevenD!
There are 2 reasons why i add you: one of them is that i love to meet new people with wich i can change opinions and points of view, i like to have a diversity of friends, with different culture, language or belifs and the second one and thats how i found you was that i saw that you have read some books written by Dan Brown, like me, i alredy read angels and demonds and also de Da Vinci Code, so it will be great to exchange oppinions about them. I dont understand very well what do you mean with my motivation but if it is like what moves me throught the life i really can answer that, is the disire of life , of aproach all my goals, the desire of eat the world and learn all what i can, also my motivation is Goth and i think that the life is that trainning that you got, where you can have a lot of mistakes but you have to learn about them, and try not to fall with the same rock, and that your actions and your faith are the ones that will guide you to Goth. So it will be great to know more about you, and i also saw in your shelf some books that talk about Buddha, and like i said before is wonderful to exchange ideas and know new people with differents thoughts.
