Stephanie

I'm happily married and I love to read!!! I pretty much read all genres. As long as it's got words, I'll probably read it! I love to save money on books as much as I love to read so I trade my books on-line at various book swapping web sites, TitleTrader, PaperBackSwap, WhatsOnMyBookshelf, and FrugalReader. I love getting books in the mail!

Good to hear from you. I didn't love World Without End, it's the sequel to Pillars of the Earth which was an amazing epic. I've heard that about Hamilton also, I don't know cause I haven't got to her new ones yet. Sometimes I think an author just doesn't know how to end a series or are just afraid of where to go from there.
I might try a Linda Lael Miller western, she's got quite a few I checked over at Fantastic Fiction.
I'm enjoying Body of Evidence by Patricia Cornwell. Not sure what I'm going to read next either:) Take care.

Oh that's great! Have you been reading romance novels for long? I just discovered that genre 2 years ago. It all started when I got my hands on a copy of Scandal in Spring by Lisa Kleypas. From that moment I was hooked! lol

Actually, I have a couple of favorites (too hard for me to pick only one):
    - The Twilight series (have you read those books? the movie just came out last week)
    - The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (the 1rst of a trilogy... the 2nd book will come out in September this year)
    - At the Bride Hunt Ball by Olivia Parker (an excellent debut!)
    - Just One of the Guys by Kristan Higgins (her books are HILARIOUS)
    - It Happened One Autumn by Lisa Kleypas
    - How to Marry a Marquis by Julia Quinn
    - Something Wonderful by Judith McNaught
    - Ransom by Julie Garwood

Right now, I'm getting near the end of Sugar Daddy by Lisa Kleypas. I love it! Have you read it? I heard the sequel is as good as this one and the 3rd book in the series comes out this week (March 31st).

And what about you? What are your favorites??

Hi Stephanie, I had a good week last week! After reading some posts over at RT about the Montana Creeds series, I would be interested in checking those out. Usually I'm not into western romance but let me know what you're starting with and how you like it. I would be willing to try something new also.

Right now I'm reading a really long one-World Without End by Ken Follett, it's 1,014 pages. I plan to break with a romance during this read. In fact I pulled out Magic in the Wind by Christine Feehan. I know what you mean about burn out, it's good to switch it up a bit.

Thanks for letting me know about the meters on the 2009 Challenge Thread. I went over and changed it.

I saw your review of Lover Unbound this morning when I logged onto Paperbackswap. It was featured on the front page. (Good review.) So many people were upset about the end of the book, but I thought it was kind of cool. Let me know what you think of Lover Enshrined. I thought the romance between Phury & Cormia could have been better, but the side stories made up for it.

Wow, you have been super busy. It must be great to be around all those books and people that love them.
I will definitely check out J.R's first book in the series, see if I like it. I was an avid fan of Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake, I really liked those. I would read each one when a new one was released, but haven't kept up now for a year or so, so I have catching up to do with those. I've heard her newest ones aren't as good but don't know if it's true or not. But I have kept all of those.
Dean Koontz is a favorite of mine, I keep all of his, I really love his writing. I just got into Johanna Lindsey, I'm just about to finish LOVE ONLY ONCE, which is amazing!

I don't read alot of one genre now. I'll read a romance, then read a horror. Or a bestseller to a mystery. I like not knowing what I'll be reading next til I look in my pile.

Rhage's book is great. I couldn't figure out how the author was going to have Rhage and Mary have a HEA, but she did it. My favorite BDB book in LOVER AWAKENED. I'm a sucker for a tortured hero and Zsadist fits the bill. Plus Bella is probably my favorite heroine.

Many people have complained about the later books, saying the books are no longer romances. I think they still have a strong romantic story, but the author has also kept various storylines moving forward which takes time away from the main couple. It doesn't bother me at all. You'll have to let me know what you think of the later stories.

Stephanie, I just read your review of DARK LOVER. I'm glad you liked the book. At first I was wary of reading this series because I was just sick of vampires. It felt like every author had nothing original to add to the vampire lore. Well, Ward's BDB series is definitely original. Now it's my favorite series. I think you'll like the other books in the series too. You'll have to let me know what you think of them.
