“A cute mystery novel set in 1930s Sydney. I enjoy recognising the events and places of my home town. Will have to investigate some more of what happened back then, as it has left me very intrigued. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series”

“This is the first book in years that I haven't managed to finish. I was going to struggle on, but realised that the book just wasn't worth it.

Maybe I wasn't in the mood for it, but it was quite tedious, dire even. It all seemed quite forced. I really expected more from Ben Elton.

Thank goodness I borrowed it from the library!”

“I wanted to like this book, as I love all of the rest of Charles Stross' books... But on the whole I would say that I didn't like it. Although the heroine did grow on me, I just didn't care enough!

I am going to read the second to see if it improves (hopefully).”

“I like the fact that Ruso stumbles over things accidentally, and things just happen to him. whether he likes it or not.

His family is absolutely atrocious. I wanted to slap them all!”
