I was wondering if you'd help me out by fast-tracking an author name change for me. http://www.shelfari.com/authors/a1002711076/Steve-Stone-tmp/history. I just removed the tmp part.
Hi starwolvie - nice to see you are a fellow Aussie. I am on the Central Coast :)
I am a little confused and hoping that as a librarian you can help me.
I am wondering how I get approved as author of my book - it says a librarian needs to approve it. I couldn't figure out how to ask on the librarian group (as in coudn't figure out how to post a question)
This is the link to my book
When I learned about Shelfari I opened an account, not realising you could just use your Amazon account to do this. I looked up how to to get the author badge, and followed the instructions, which means I now have two accounts.
I assume I can just delete the other account but just in case they can be combined I thought I would ask your advice first.
I very much appreciate any help you can give me on this
Thanks, Ellem :)
Thanks for setting this up. I have now combined the two remaining Alexandre Dumas, père duplicates: a3057294/Alexandre-Dumas/ and a1002691014/Dumas-père-Alexandre/
There are only the two books we discussed on the first, and only one on the second, no other info on the author pages.
Another duplicate, a1002688712/Alexander-Dumas/ already appears empty, so I assume it will go away by itself.
I noticed you also approved my William Lederer author combine, thank you!
I suspected that you might have some plan for your original edit, and since we had just been in touch, I thought it was a good time to ask about the issues I was having with authors and the Shelfari bot. I think that this behavior is occurring independently of author combines as well, so I will show you an example if I find one.
I would ask the question, "What is to prevent this from happening again?", but I suspect the answer is "nothing", since new Shelfari members and Amazon booksellers will probably continue to type some variation of Alexandre Dumas and get it added to the catalog as a "new" author, so I guess one just needs to check occasionally. Would be nice if Amazon had more checks in place to get new books cataloged correctly from the beginning, but probably just wishful thinking. Seems like they could take advantage of the wealth of Shelfari edits to "suggest" the right authors to booksellers by using a Shelfari lookup. Maybe they already do, I don't know, since I've never tried to sell a book on Amazon.
Anyway, thanks for your help and hard work to keep us book nuts happy.
http://www.shelfari.com/books/16139622/The-New-York-Times-Complete-Civil-War-1861-1865. I made a mistake, could you reject this combine. Thanks a bunch! Kelly
I have questions about a few combination requests you denied. They're all for this series: http://www.shelfari.com/series/Heart-Of-Texas. There are 7 books in the series and books 1-2 were combined into volume 1, books 3-4 were combined into volume 2, and books 5-6 were combined into volume 3. Here are the denied requests and my justifications:
1. http://www.shelfari.com/books/1604089/TexasTwo-Step should be combined with http://www.shelfari.com/books/27448180/Texas-Two-Step-A-Selection-from-Heart-of-Texas-Volume-1.
I think maybe you denied it because the latter book says volume 1. That doesn't mean Texas Two-Step has multiple volumes. Rather it's book 2 in the Heart of Texas series, so it would also be part of volume 1.
2. http://www.shelfari.com/books/374821/Carolines-Child should be combined with http://www.shelfari.com/books/29048861/Carolines-Child-A-Selection-from-Heart-of-Texas-Volume-2
I think maybe you denied it because the latter book says volume 2. That doesn't mean Caroline's Child has multiple volumes. Rather it's book 3 in the Heart of Texas series, so it would also be part of volume 2.
3. http://www.shelfari.com/books/1115972/Dr-Texas should be combined with www.shelfari.com/books/30256464/Dr-Texas-A-Selection-from-Heart-of-Texas-Volume-2.
I think maybe you denied it because the latter book says volume 2. That doesn't mean Dr. Texas has multiple volumes. Rather it's book 4 in the Heart of Texas series, so it would also be part of volume 2.
Thanks for all your hard work!
Hi Starwolvie - thanks so much for all your hard work approving edits! I'm wondering why this one was rejected? http://www.shelfari.com/books/35495477/Over-My-Dead-Body-by-Rex-Stout-1940/history Thanks for your help
Hi, any further on splitting the new expanded editions of Volume 3 up? as dsicussed few weeks ago? http://www.shelfari.com/books/27048107/Batman-Knightfall-Vol-3-Knightsend/editions
Another batch of seemingly stuck books:
