I'm 23. I've always been a fairly avid reader even as a child. I mostly enjoy general/women's fiction, children's books, young adult. I like anything where the prose sound and feel lyrical or magical. I especially love Alice Hoffman. I like books that make me think. I was never someone who liked "light, fluffy beach/vacation reads". For me, reading is all about the emotions a book envokes in you. What's the point in reading a book if you couldn't care less about it's characters or how it all turns out in the end? And when it comes to movies made from books, I actually prefer to watch the movie first. That way I have no predetermined expectations of the film and when I read the book it's more like an elaboration and ends up giving me a better understanding of the whole story.

I love children's books because the stories are sweet, simple and fun. And the illustrations are always beautiful and interesting. Reading them is just a great get-away for me. « less
