“Three generations of females.
Bonnie and her older sister Vivian grew up with a mother Elizabeth who didn't know how to love them and saw them more of a burden than a blessing. Now she's in the Alzheimer's Unit in a nursing home while Bonnie makes an effort to visit her daily despite Elizabeth's negative and hurtful comments. In her bad days, Elizabeth rambles about things unknown to Bonnie and Bonnie has no idea whether this talk is truth or just the ramblings of the disease.
Vivian's daughter Meg and Bonnie's daughter 14-year old Jane spend time together but now Meg's getting married and Jane's not happy about that. After Brady got mugged he's an entirely different person and Meg is no longer sure getting married to him is in her best interest.
Jane is hired on to watch over a small boy with autism. At first she is bored to tears but then she and Charley become friends and his mother notices that she is good with Charley. Jane learns some difficult life lessons.
The characters are not created to be perfect but to have flaws like all humans. Things don't always turn out the way they like. ”
