As a writer and speaker myself I was wondering if you had any particularly good books on speaking that you would recommend.

Hello Speaker, your new book sounds very interesting, makes me wonder if you think at all that we attract people into our lives who do have the same faults and is that like attracting like or are they "brought" into our lives to show us more clearly those faults? I know I can sometimes spot a fault in someone else pretty quickly because it is one I am familiar with! I have a daughter who lives in Columbus and she called me yesterday very dismayed that it was snowing....on April 4th! I'm so glad I live in Houston and it is summer here already. :-)

Speaker -- you mentioned in one of the Writing Readers discussions that one of your speaking subjects is how we tend to judge people for things that we are guilty of ourselves. I was wondering if you are familiar with "Leadership and Self-Deception" by the Arbinger Institute, or "Bonds that Make Us Free" by C. Terry Warren -- both books that touch on a closely related subject (and both on my shelf!)

I saw you have "Up From Slavery" on your shelf. I haven't read it yet, but it's on my list right next to W.E.B. DuBois' "The Souls of Black Folk." How long are you in the states for?

I don't think I've ever seen any of Herriot's books adapted to film! Hmmm...I'll have to look into that. How long have you been in the states?
