Rhiannon A’s last login was Monday, October 7, 2013.
Hey Rhiannon...Are you a Patriots fan? They have Danny Woodhead now so the whole state of Nebraska is officially Patriots country. That is where I am from. My nephew was at Danny's wedding. We Nebraskans folllow everything Danny Woodhead does. This guy is a phenomenal athlete and comes from a small town so people can really relate to him.
Dang! You really have a lot of opportunity to work out during the winter at variety of places indoors. Thats pretty cool. We can workout out side most days. It can get pretty cold. Last year it got down to 12 for a couple days. Usually it gets up to 50 during the day. I would love my girls to know what teams up north have to deal with to workout. Heck, it is still over 70 during the day here.
Hi Rhiannon, hope everything is going well for you. We had our last tournament last weekend in Houston. It was a college look tourney and there were over 200 college coaches there. I was wondering if you knew anything about Middleburry. A small college up in Vermont. My daughter likes it and has started communicating with the coach.
"When love awakens in your life, in the night of your heart, it is like the dawn breaking within you. Where before there was anonymity, now there is intimacy; where before there was fear, now there is courage; where before in your life there was awkwardness, now there is a rhythm of grace and gracefulness; where before you used to be jagged, now you are elegant and in rhythm with your self. When love awakens in your life, it is like a rebirth, a new beginning. "

I don't know how posting pictures on shelfari works. Might have to switch to facebook for that. Ha, listen to this. We finished our last tourney 5 wins 1 tie. They use a point system so games end right at hour and 20 mins. Or maybe it was hour and 15 min. The head coach wasn't happy about our intensity so after the 4 hour ride home we still had pracitce that night (Sunday night) And most of it was diving practice cause apparently a couple bloopers hit between left and shortstop and both the left fielder and the short stop did not dive for the ball. ha! And this week is Home Coming. We have a tourney and all the girls are afraid to tell the coach they have dates to the prom. I love this drama. Makes life interesting. And it happens every year!
Of all things my daughter Hanna bought me Mockingjay a couple days ago. She didin't know I had just read Hunger Games. Yes definately let me know how you did. Do you have anyone take pictures at the games? It would be cool to see some pictures of games from a different part of the country.
I just finished Catching Fire. Liked it. My favorite books are historical fiction so I think I will read one next. After that I am going to read Water for Elephants. Yea, we are playing this weekend but I came up to northern Nebraska to manage the remodel of my sisters new home. We won three games yesterday. We tied in our first game this morning. Since it is a college look tourney they stop the game right at one hour thirty minutes. Tourney champions are based on points (runs scored/runs scored against) My daughter did really well. She typically plays short but when we bring in our back up pitcher she moves to second or third. She is also a pretty good pitcher and she got to pitch yesterday. She did ok but the girl who takes her place at short had two errors. She also had a stand up triple. Man I wish I was there. Good luck with your tourney. Let me know how you do.
Rhiannon, aren't you into softball season right now?? How goes it? We have a tourney in Austin Texas this weekend...unfortunately I am in northern Nebraska about 10 miles from the Wyoming border and just south of South Dakota so I won't make it. I just read Hunger Games and it was great! Try it.
that's hilarious. It is the rise ball the boys have trouble hitting. Boys aren't tough enough to play softball anyway. Show this video of Caitlin Lowe hitting the fence to the boys! She is one of the very few girls to be a 4 time all-american. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zl1UgY-jr3U
hey, check out this video about Jenny Finch. McMommy 9 (Amber) beat Jenny 2 out of 3 times. Amber has the NCAA record for most hit pitchers in a regional NCAA tournement games. It was against Arizona and she hit Jenny Finch twice. Jenny hit two players on Ambers team in warm-ups and knocked them out of the game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_de3HJvO-N8&feature=related
Katy Maxey turned my on this book called Graceling. I think you would like it. It has some adult stuff in it so maybe you should check with your parents....I don't know, it really isn't that bad but.....Dig this, McMommy9 was a left handed pitcher and had an unbelievable curve ball. She, at one time, had the NCAA record for most hit batters in a season. I think 42! Oh, her number in softball was 9, hence the McMommy9
