When man believed that happiness was dependent upon God, he killed for religious reasons. When man believed happiness was dependent upon the form of government, he killed for political reasons. After dreams that were too long, true nightmares, we arrived at the present period of history. Man woke up, discovering that which he always knew, that... more »

I had to tell you before we leave for the mountains this weekend - how much I've enjoyed discussing Echo w/ you in the dungeon. You brought out many details I hadn't noticed & things I'd forgotten from the previous books that tied in w/ this one. The whole thread just made my reading even more enjoyable. Thanks!!

OHH!!! Happy birthday, you mischief maker!!

See ya on Mon. when we come home...

    *much grumbling*

There's a purple blizzard here, dam it. Amazon.com has invaded my computer & forced me to buy. What you ask? Oh, books like "Perdito Station" & the hc Sookie (vol.10) & "The Society of S." If hubby sees this credit card bill, I'm moving in w/ you. And my lil dogs will be, too.

Smack the sh!t out of Jason?! Oooohh, I'd like to do more than just that!

I adore Pam & her irreverance & her wanting a friendship w/ Sookie, "her little mind-reader human friend." No, I hadn't noticed any similarity between Sookie & Claire...but now that you mention it, hmmmm...I think Harris has done such a good job w/ Sookie, making her mature & grow & develop over the course of the 9 ?, 10? books. Her sense of humor & ability to poke fun at herself are great & I love her independence. What a hoot to see a Nora reference in this book!

Do you have snow???? Good gravy, this is early for snow...Not a good sign of an easy winter...

I have a "thing"for big men so Quinn didn't bother me too much, notwithstanding his low IQ, LOL. Eric, ahh, Eric....He just gets better & better. LOVED the parts where he's calling her "my love" & Pam is teasing both of them all of the time. Ohhh! I also loved knowing more about Pam. Yeppers, when I can drag myself out of this house - I've felt like major doo-doo lately - I'm gonna look for the hc in the local Wally World.

*grins* "Echo" is good. I decided to just zoom thru His Lodshite & go for the good parts.

If I stay w/ my sister in Jan., (vs. a hotel) I'll bring you homemade lava cake. =D

I just finished "From Dead to Worse" & so now I know what Quinn did. *sigh* And what Eric did. *bigger sigh* I've got to break down & buy the new Sookie in hard cover since I don't think I can wait for it to come out in pb.

I'm picking up "Echo" this afternoon...I've put it off long enough...brewing hot tea (for my sore throat), giving the fur babies some animal Nyquil, grabbing the afghan & reading....

Did I offend someone with my reply on the Nobel Prize winner's discussion. I certainly didn't mean to. Perhaps you could let me know what I did.
