After my last two years of highschool, during which I found little time to pick up what novels I read, I went through some months of not knowing what to read. I was simply a little old for YA books, which entertained me but didn't fullfil my expectations, but I couldn't get hooked on Spanish classics either.
Luckily, I have discovered, on the one hand, british classics such as those of Dickens, Austen or the Brontë sisters, and on the other hand, modern classic authors - Kafka, Proust, Joyce. All of these wrote literature which is much more appealing than most the classics I was forced to study at my school.
Currently, I am still only merely starting to get a taste of many authors I had never read until this year. I hope to keep on moving later to other genres and other eras of literature - as well as other cultures.
Suggestions are always appreciated. :-).
