    Hey Sondra,
We are now Shelfari friends !!!! We seem to like the same types of books so I'm sure we will be recommending books to each other.

Hi Sondra! Have you read any of the Kate Atkinson mysteries? She has a series with a detective named Jackson Brodie that several people recommended to me. I just read the first one, Case Histories, and really liked it.

I plan to look over your shelf to get ideas. I just finished Panic by Jeff Abbott, this was very good. C.J. Box is another author I have discovered.
Betsy, what a good name! Does she bark much or howl? Betty rarely does.

I just started a " Currently Reading " sight on Facebook

She is adorable. Your a good person to adopt, all my dogs are adopted. We have a beagle ( Betty ) and a corgi ( Barney and a heinze 57 ( Ginger ) and a healer ( Buddy ) There are all kinds of critters around here. She looks like the traveling agreed with her :) I haven't been keeping up with shelfari like I should. I love to read and have been discovering new authors.

Wow! Snow Flower is my new favorite book. I read that for my book club. I will have to look into Empress Orchid. Which book do you like the best?
What was China like? I'd love to visit there one day. Thanks for your note!

Thanks for inviting me, Sondra - I'm excited. I'm a slow reader, so my shelf might take a while to accumulate!

Thanks for the book summaries! The mysteries look really interesting. I've been to Assisi (one of my favorite places in Italy) and I am curious to read it now. I'm reading The Story of Edgar Sawtelle in my book club right now . It's not too bad, but I have a ways to go with too little time. Thanks for sharing a new author.

Hi! I'm not familiar with Donna Leon's work but it appears the setting is usually somewhere in Italy? I do love Italy! Good books?
