You should definitely read "The Secret"! I highly recommend it because it will help soothe your soul and it provides a lot of inspiration and motivation to help you achieve the kind of like that you would like to have!

It really depends on how we interpret what we read, learn from them and know if we should follow what we read. The power of positive thinking is very healing though.

Guess it all depends on how you look at things. Yes, you can write positive thoughts/ideas on a piece of paper and stick them to your kitchen cabinets. I guess I like the fact that it helps to reenforce what most of us already know - a positive attitude the best way to go through life. Every now and then we just need a push in that direction. Most everyone I have recommended this book to have "loved" it - beauty being in the eye of the beholder?! So get it from your library and see what YOU think.....

The secret is a self-help book that I found had no substance whatsoever, to borrow a quote from amazon.com, take a piece of paper write "Positive thinking promotes positive events, negative thinking promotes negative events" and there you go...that's the whole book in a nutshell. Hope that helped.

Thanks for your answer on Moby Dick. I don't want to watch the movie but like you said, it is a classic. I think the only reason why i want to read it is that it is a classic and so famous that I am wondering what the whole story is and if it is for me really that good like many say:-)) For now it jsut doesn't drag na back everytime to go on reading...

About Deception Point, yes it is good, I like it more than A&D to some extent - that one was a bit of immediate history and a lot of subterraenean geography, creepy (just think of walking about in Rome knowing of all those open tombs you are walking over, what if there were an earthquake or soemthing and one fell!!) while this one is more of science, futuristic, and plausible in present. Other than that this is again mystery, information, thriller, solution.

I'm glad you liked it...Undomestic Goddess is funny, but not to realistic...I mean, how out of it do you have to be to just assume, someone is your new house keeper?
You will enjoy the rest of her books too.
I'm going to start reading "GATECRASHER" it's by Sophie Kinsella, but under a sudo name of Madeline Wickham...don't know what to expect...

Hi you asked me about Memoirs of a geisha, i read the book when my sister lent it to me.
She wanted the movie so i bought her both for Christmas.
The film obviously as movies do cut out a lot of the book but i did enjoy both.
The book was fascinating and dealth with taboo closed subjects within the Japanese culture.
It was rich in history and if you enjoy historical novels in general its a really good read.
Happy reading if you do decide to read it.
    Ria.

Memoires of a geisha is best read, the movie does not do the book justice. I read the book then bought it on a book sale, it is well worth the read.
    Hope you enjoy it :)
