I am a Grad Student in Applied Anthropology at the University of North Texas who is very excited to be participating in the first ever ONLINE Masters in Applied Anthropology program. My focus within the department is Business Anthropology - but my true love is Cyber Anthropology.
My Cyber Anthro focus is on user experience, user interface design, usability, blogging, social networking, and online gaming and communicating via any interface computers/consoles/handhelds/mobile phones. My basic interest is in any non face to face (f2f) communication between two or more people. This can take the form of one to one, many to one, or one to many.
Professionally I am employed as an Information Architect for an interactive marketing agency. I find my work both challenging and rewarding. I am very passionate about what I do and believe I have an awful lot to learn still. Luckily learning is something I enjoy doing!
Personally, I am a avid gamer, I own all three last generation consoles and haven't upgraded them yet because I'm still hooked on World of Warcraft and have been playing that since the date it was released. I run our guild's website and serve as a Marshal in the hierarchy.
Other than that I am a newly wed and (step)mother to a beautiful 4 year old. I love 19th century German philosophy, taking pictures, stompy music (the less mainstream the better), technology, gadgets, and organic design.
