“A very good book, with a surprising sense of humour. I'm not a big fan of Eastern Canada writers, as they tend to be a bit grim but Ami McKay definitely goes against that trend. This is an honest, touching, thoughtful book about women and birth and the magic and mystery that surrounds this most natural of occurences. It also details the struggles of midwives for respect and acknowledgement of their skills and what they can bring to the medical world. Very enjoyable and highly recommended.”
