I married when I just turned seventeen, and we've just celebrated our 50th anniversary! I'm a retired high school teacher, with two grown children and seven grandchildren. I'm a Christian, and I love to read--particularly Christian Fiction. My book review blog can be found at: http://bookcritiques.blogspot.com/

Hi Sally, I just read your book review for 'the face' and was glad others enjoyed it as much as I did. I just finished it this morning. I see you have Liz Curtis Higgs on your bookshelf. I LOVED that series...'thorn in my heart' I've been having such a wonderful time reading lately. One good read after another, but 'the face' is truly outstanding. I was fascinated by the whole story. It had such depth and deep topics. I too am a Christian...better run. I hope you'll be a reading friend!

Looks like we read a lot of the same books. I adored the Liz Curtis Higgs series and of course Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. Who could ever read that book and not be changed? I recently read The Canopy by Angela Hunt. I tend to learn things when I read her work. She is very good. Feel free to take a look at my shelf. Thanks for all your sweet comments on my blog. They are encouraging. "So many books, so little time." Don't know if you have looked at my blog further than my link pages to Colorado Lady, but I recently reviewed three on this post:

    Hi Smiling Sal !
I am new to Shelfari, and I see you wanted to be added to my "friends" list. How nice. I am still figuring this all out. It's my first encounter with an online book club so to speak. How did you like "Thorn in My Side" by Liz Curtis Higgs? I run a Christian Fiction Book Club in West Palm Beach and I am looking at that one for next Fall. I have it and have not read it yet.

I agree about the Karen Kingsbury books, but if I just read one here and there, I still enjoy them. I just finished Angela Hunt's "The Elevator"; it was very good. I have also just read (I have been on vacation - lots of time) Colleen Coble's latest book, "Abomination", and it was great. Have you read any of her books? I think I have read most of them, and she has become one of my favorite authors. Thank you for your friendship request; I gratefully accept.

    Hi Smiling Sal!
Thanks for checking out Copper Star. Look for it at the Amazon clicker...or try its ISBN:

I had to work a little to find it, too, but it is available, if you're interested. Thanks for following up! ~Suzanne

Thanks for joining the Tricia Goyer Group! Feel free to invite your friends!

How was your weekend? My weekend was great! Saturday I went through my bookshelves and gave about 300 books to my church library. It was good knowing that they'll be enjoyed by more people. And I spend Sat. night and Sunday with friends and family ... and worshiping God. What could be better than that?!
