I write in order to grab all those great comebacks I sometimes miss in real life (but I often grab them with perfect timing too!) I'm a writer, freelance copyeditor/proofreader for other writers, and a former library cataloguer. I live with my husband of many years. I love to write about danger and attraction, a powerful combination, and I... more »

    Hi Molliny,
I just saw your note. I have a new hardback book out from Five Star. Here are the highlights: a Hawaiian flower farm, a trio of bad-luck gems, a vicious note writer, a friendship that catches fire--again. It's coming out from Thorndike on 2/12 in large print.

Pele's Tears is a contemporary romantic suspense that takes place in a lush Hawaiian setting full of flowers, myth, and lore. It's populated by unique characters, including a nervous ornithologist, a former bad-boy boyfriend who's now a librarian, an amorous Australian surfer, a sullen, motorcycle-riding flower harvester, and a celibate wild rooster named The Colonel.

Hope you'll look for it and enjoy it!

    Hi Sharon
    Thanks for the friendship!!
And yes, I am studying editing at the moment and I actually enjoy it. I'm looking forward to putting everything I've learnt to use, hopefully in the near future!

    Hi Sharon,

I was at MySpace first, based on the work that Jon Baxley and Daniel Aronsen did. I'd never even tried it, had they not paved the way. It's a good site, and you can notify everyone of something simultaneously with a "bulletin," rather than individual notes. But it's hard for me with dialup service. Gather just seems very difficult for me to understand and I've made very little progress with it.

Five Star designed the cover and I do love it. It is a hibiscus. A hibiscus plays a minor role early in the story, and then a very important role later, so I was very happy to see it included on the cover.

Jenny's Legacy was my first published book, so I don't have a history of working with someone else. And with all that's going on in my life, I really don't want to try dealing with someone new right now. I don't have the time, the energy, the experience, the resources, or the desire to self-publish, etc. So, if they'll have me, I'll stay with Five Star in the foreseeable future.

My non-fiction is different, of course. I've done all that myself and kept every penny, but I've only done articles, not a book.

    Hi,

    Thanks for being my friend!

I'm also struggling with MySpace, and am also trying to figure out Gather. I started on Shelfari some time ago, but am only just now exploring it.

So far I'm finding it easier than MySpace. I only have a slow dialup service, so I really like the way the profiles on Shelfari load so quickly.

I think I have all the Rita Mae Brown/Sneaky Pie books, just haven't gotten them all listed yet.

Rita Mae Brown wrote a writing how-to book years ago---it was one of the first how-to books I read. I don't own it, checked it out from the library.

She writes other fiction as well, but I've not read any of it. Yet!

I've submitted the mss for my second book to Five Star, but it will be awhile before I know if they like it. It's a cozy mystery, featuring two cats based on my feline twins. They don't have speaking roles, however!

Jacqueline Winspear is a new name for me. I'll have to look for one of hers.
